Most all the time we dissapointed with the fact that we have to wait for so long tobe with our couple. I think like another VJ's members here feel that all those long complicated procedures take so much of our energy and thought. The hardest thing is when we miss our fiance or couple (for them who already married).

Recently, instead of tired and complain, i see the procedure from different side. When i see it from third party like U.S Government who doesn't know the real life and condition of us, i think, i like and appreciate how U.S Government tries to protect both of its citizens and the foreigner's beneficiary. Coz sometimes our love is blind, can not see the right and the wrong person with whom we will live together, coz sometimes our brain doesnt work normally when love filled our mind. Love sometimes is not logic.

In the end, i see the long procedures and waiting time as a moment to strengthen our love, to see and realize, to know more about our fiance/couple's personalities, life, and character. Even U.S Government still gives us a time for them to think and see about how the real life and condition once the beneficiary arrived in U.S, so that they have K1 visa type which allows us to get married within 90 days.

Good luck everyone. Hope all of us get together with our love soon. For a long happy togetherness. Ameen.

Utha, I am really impressed with your way of thinking. It is mind opening to see it from a different perspective. I do get impatient and frustrated with the fact we have to jump all these hoops to be with our loved one but after thinking further we can look at it as a true testament that our feelings are real and genuine. Considering that our visa is in the hand of a stranger within 5 mins interview is daunting. I am just glad we started the petition now with the new procedure in place. Things could be worst... much much worst.

I agree with the sentiment, I think being made to wait this time 'weeds' out those who are not meant to be together and leaves us with those willing to do anything for their partner. My emotional side hates the amount of time it takes though!

Also, Time difference is the biggest problem we face, as by the time Dawn finishes work, I'm pretty tired, but I stay up until past midnight so I can spend time with her, I wake up at 6am to get ready for work and have not much of a weekend because of all the sleep I need to catch up on!

It makes me really excited to see an end to this!

Start of relationship

??/07/2008 - A random Skype message came through to me from an American girl

14/02/2009 - After months of talking, the American girl flew over to me - I knew we were meant to be

18/08/2009 - I proposed to her on Brighton Beach, UK

K1 Journey

15/07/2010 - We finally put in the i129f application - after shortly considering me going there on VWP, marrying and trying to Adjust Status, but was too risky

03/01/2011 - NOA2 on the day Dawn returned to NY after spending Christmas with me

10/02/2011 - I visited NY for 3 weeks (let this hold up the K1 process)

28/02/2011 - Medical

29/03/2011 - K1 Interview at London Embassy - Visa granted!

01/04/2011 - Visa in hand

Next Stage

03/05/2011 - POE in JFK - can't wait!

04/06/2011 - Our Wedding Day :)

I think everybody shares your sentiment. However one frustation which most of us share, is sometimes lack of transparency and the persistant "Initial Review" status for our petitions . Questioning operational inefficency is not bad in my judgement.

The question is how come somebody gets approved in 30 days and some unlucky amongst us have to wait 6 months. I also understand that some people require additional review but let the petitionar know that what is going on. Getting a RFE after five months for some petty missing information would indicate that nobody looked at the file, while others, who filed after you, were procssed way early.
