Hello Everyone,

Just needed to know if it is REALLY necessary to have the I-864, all co-sponser information, including copies of tax information and asset information or they wouldn't always ask for it and it's just an extra thing?

Thanks!

Yes, it is REALLY necessary to have I-864, Affidavit of Support...including all the related documents. These serve as evidence required to show USCIS that you, the petitioner, can support your beneficiary. Also, that your beneficiary will not be a public charge.

It is NOT just an extra thing.

Good luck with your journey!

Since you have submitted all those at NVC, Consulate will have those.

Some people will carry them for extra piece of mind.

Sometimes, Consulate might request an up to date AOS if the time gap between the AOS execution at NVC and the actual interview date is "considerably" more.

It won't hurt if you have copies of them at the interview

Good Luck

I know they'd be good to have, i just wanted to know how necessary they would be at interview cause my co-sponsers aren't really comforable sending them via email nor international mailing either, so i wanted to know how much of a problem it'd be if i couldn't have them during interview :/ Thank you for your answer :)Goodluck with your journey

Thank you for your wishes, so what i grasp from what you're saying is that the Co-sponsor sent his I-864 and the Tax paperwork to NVC already and now you're wondering if you should have copies of them at the interview right ?

Well my husband is going to send them to the AOS package tomorrow to NVC, and we found out our co-sponsers weren't really comfortable with sending their personal information to anywhere other than NVC basically, so it was gonna be a problem for them having to send it through email or internationally mailing them to me, that we could've lost our co-sponsers so we were panicking :/

Like Loto mentioned it is not necessary to have them at the interview since you gonna submit them to NVC

We gonna send out the IV tomorrow my wife is kind of getting cranky from the whole process, she hates to deal with paper works lol
