I told Natasha when she absolutely freaked out when I would walk into the house with shoes..."I paid alot of money for this wood floor and when it wears out, I will pay alot of money for a new one..let me walk on it." Needless to say I now take off my shoes at the door ughhhhhhhhhhhh Russian accent yes very sexy. Especially when she calls me by my full name(when shes mad)"English is so stupid, stupid American English" this coming from an Linguist in English and an English teacher. My response is stupid Russian Language, you all don't use articles, go to hospital, go to store, you just grunt...go house," she laughs and calls me by my full name haha.

This is definitely a cultural thing. My wife still wants us to remove our shoes upon entering but she knows that when visiting American friends it is acceptable to keep your shoes on. With us, we are constantly in and out of the house so changing shoes doesn't make a lot of sense. We have both learned to accept the cultural differences and it seems to be working okay.

As to English, Lena is taking an English writing class and thinks the teacher is stupid. But what bothers her more is the other students. They come in, put their feet up on the desk, eat food, talk when the teacher is talking, sleep through the class and are totally disrespectful of the teacher.

That is one of the cultural differences she won't accept and I agree with her. I still remember the days when lady teachers wore dresses and the men teachers wore coats and ties. Can you imagine that today?
