Hi everyone,

I have a doubt concerning the interview date at the consulate in Rio de Janeiro. Last week, I sent an e-mail to the embassy asking for the interview date, giving them my NVC case number starting with RDJ... They replied instantly with a day, November 30th. The thing is, I did not get the packet 4 with the letter and all the forms. I asked them about it and they said I don't have to wait for the packet, since all the information and forms I can find on their website. So, can I trust this? If I didn't send the e-mail, how would I know the day of the interview with no packet? ( cuz there are just 2 weeks left for the interview. I've read here that they usually give us more than a month to get everything ready). I live really far from Rio de Janeiro and I'm afraid of flying over there and no interview.

Hi Nadia!

You don't need to worry. I also never got package 4 with the interview letter. I think it's becoming common there. I emailed the Consulate and they said it's not problem. We can download all the forms and info from the link they gave us.

Thank you Roberta. It's just little awkward that they didn't send the packet yet, with the interview being on november 30th. I tried to call them today to confirm the day but can never get through.

Also, I thought we had to present the letter with the the scheduled day on the interview.

They told me they sent my package on Oct 1st, but I told them I never got it. They said it's OK.

I'll print the email and show at the consulate if they ask me for my letter.

BTW I now 2 other people from Brazil in the same situation. They also never got their interview letters. One of them didn't have any problems at the consulate the other one didn't have her interview yet.

That's why I think this's happening a lot.

Ohh ic, well that makes me feel way better, cuz I can't even think about the possibility of going to Rio and have problems at the consulate. I will print the e-mails to show them too. Thank you Roberta. Do you have your interview date already?
