Hi friends,

The good news that I got package 3.

The bad news that it contains some mistakes:

1- my first name spelling is wrong (although I wrote it correct in I-130 & G-325 & it's the same like the passport)

2- Preference Category CR-1 although that I'm married since two years & half ( I noticed that the embassy employee wrote IR-1 ). Case No start with CRO***!!!!!!!

3- Priority Date is missing

4- Even the street name isn't like I wrote

5- in some paper it's mentioned that I should arrange all documents in same order as they are listed in the checklist & I couldn't find any checklist in the package (unless a paper titled "Instructions for immigrant visa applicant"

All this in addition to the very bad quality of the copies they sent!!!

What is the hell is that!!!

What should I do, specially for first 3 points?

Thank you in Advance

Hi Horees,

Congratulations for getting a packet! Ok, let me see if I can get this straight. You are going for CR/IR-1 visa?

If so, has the NVC approved your paperwork and sent it to the embassy yet?

I am trying to understand what you mean by packet 3.

With you being married past 2 years, that will qualify you for IR-1 visa. Meaning it will not be a conditional green card.

I am not sure about the spelling of your name. Again, where did the packet come from? The embassy or the NVC?

As far as a "checklist" goes, is this for the DS-230 application?

Sorry, I forgot to tell the whole story.

My case is DCF, so we applied in Cairo 2 weeks ago. we got the approval in the same day.

Today I got package containing DS-230, I-846, and more papers...

that is all

i can't say what to do about the mistakes, is their contact information in your papers. There is checklist on this site though.

and omg how did you get same day approval?

The checklists on the site don't apply to DCF. When you file directly it goes by the embassy's requirements, which are NOT necessarily the same as mailing a packet to USCIS. I found this out the hard way when I filed my DCF in manila and showed up with my paperwork all ready according to USCIS requirements/the checklists here. Was promptly told at the immigration window that what is on the USCIS website means NOTHING when you DCF. All that matter is what the embassy wants.

Just got my ds-230 package today!

i don't know if it's how he got same day approval, but if you file at an embassy and you are a US citizen living in an area hostile to US citizens, the embassy will often expedite your visa same day to get you out of the territory to prevent you from being the victim of an american-targeted crime. It happens regularly here in the philippines for people who live in the muslim area of Mindanao. If you are a US citizen married to a local, they will expedite you to get you out ASAP so they don't risk you getting kidnapped and being part of an international incident.
