Have we really gotten so lazy that rather than answer an OPs questions in Layman's terms, we just throw out links to US Government websites filled with legal mumbo-jumbo that even an educated English Speaking American has a hard time understanding? :bonk:

Sweetdove:

In easy-to-understand terms, an AOS is a document that your hubby provides to show he can support you when you get here, and that you won't becaome a "charge of the state"...meaning you won't be applying for food stamps, or any Welfare programs...basically living on Governemnt money once you get here. To meet this requirement, your sponsor( hubby) needs to meet 125% of the poverty level for his income. As given in the above posts, I-864P shows the amounts required to surpass the 125% threshold. If your hubby is Active Duty Military, he only requires to meet 100% of the poverty level. The household size will include you, your hubby and any other dependents he supports if applicable.

I hope this helps....

Thank you for your personal testimony. I hope your financial situation improves soon. In the meantime, you might want to seek the help of a professional about your addiction.
