Hey VJers,

Wondering if you can help shed some light on a I-134 query for us.

Both my fiance and I live together in Australia and were waiting for me to get my visa before we moved to the states together. (He's from Chicago and has been living here 3 years)

We both have fairly well paid jobs and decent savings behind us, but his employer is based in Sydney Australia - not the US.

He has started to apply for jobs in the US but even if he doesn't get one before we leave we have enough money to get by and support from his parents if it were ever required.

Can he fill out an 1-134 without a US address or employer? If not is there any other way around it, ie statements from his parents for example?

Thanks for your help!!!

You have two options:

- Your fiance can sponsor you on assets, ie savings etc. In most cases, only the petitioner (ie USC_)'s assets are counted, and many embassies want to see the assets US based, ie you may need to open a US bank account (joint, if you can), and move your savings there.

- Have his parents co-sponsor you, ie stand guarantoor.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
