Parking near Montreal consulate?

I'd like to hear from people who know where there's parking (free or not) fairly close to the consulate.

We stayed on Rue President-Kennedy and although we stayed in the hotel, you can park along the street and it was a short walk to the consulate. I think there is metre parking along there

A lot of the little side streets off of Rue St. Catherines also has metre parking

there was not a parking spot to be had ANYWHERE when I was there for my interview back in august(09). Meter parking everywhere but its a very busy area. The hotel I stayed in had free parking thankfully because I would of been in trouble if I had to find a parking space.

Will you be arriving the night before? If you do, there are many hotels that are within walking distance to the consulate. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (there are closer ones) and walked over. That way, I didn't have to pay for parking and deal with the madness of Montreal traffic.

You might try the parking lot next to the Square Phillips Hotel (Place Phillips). I think it was 10 CAD for the day. The back of the lot is practically on Rue Saint Alexandre--very close to the consulate.

Hey ok, so you were at the consulate on the same day as me AND stayed in the same hotel...hmm You stalking me? ha ha.

We cabbed it over because I thought a 4 year would hate the 7-10 minute walk in the wee hours of the morning, It was a 3 min cab ride about 7 dollars. I didn't see any where to park.
