Hello All,

I would like to start this thread and welcome any advice and suggestions you may have.

Situation:

I had a Class 1 Misdemanour Sexual Assult in 2000 and paid fine, got 2 yrs probation and completed the therapy/educational class and the case was then later terminated.

In 2007 I applied for GC through marriage with USC. Of course due to the grounds of inadmissiblity I also applied for I601 Criminal Waiver and the case was heard by IJ.

My adjustment of status was approved by IJ in 2007. My three years anniversary is now passed and I am planning to apply for the citizenship. My biggest concern now is GMC requirements. I am clean during three year statuory period but I understand that government may look beyound the statuory period and becuase of the past criminal history that I had and I am worried that I will fail on GMC. I am the law abiding citizen since then. I pay taxes, help community, and support family and friends.

What are the chances that I will pass GMC? Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for your time reading the thread and your inputs.

I have nothing to base an opinion on other than some appeals decisions I have read. Generally though sex, drug related or violent crimes are considered a bit differently than others. My guess is the result will be tied to your age at the time of the crime, and the circumstances surrounding it. It bodes well you have gotten the waiver

Thank you for your reply "brokenfamily". I am wondering the government will review the judge's decisions on my GC approval and therefore will make further consideration on my application. I have no doubt that they will look at the circumstances and the time of the crime.
