Hey!

I'm new although I've been reading here for quite a while now.

My husband (the USC) and me (german wife) filed I-130 (CR1).

When we filed the petition, everything was in my maiden name. When he visited me in Germany after, we changed my maiden name to his last name. So I got a new passport and a new ID with my new name but it also provides my maiden name.

So, when everything goes well my husband is coming here during the time my interview would be issued to take me home after the visa is issued (such a sweet idea of him <3). Since my passport is in my new name but all the documents of the visa process are in my maiden name, I'm afraid there is going to be an issue at the POE. Like I said, my passport says both names and I also have the marriage certificate if the CPB needs to see it. Will it be ok?

Thank you in advance. This is bugging me for a few days already so I'd be glad if you can help.

Andrea

No, you won't have any problems. We also filed under my maiden name and had my passport change to show married name. Your visa will be issued under your passport name, so just buy the plane ticket under your married name (exactly as it appears on your passport).
