1. Does Medical Certifcation require we use an Embassy Doctor or can my husband take the form now to his present doctor to complete so it is done and ready?

2. How long after Embassy Approval is it before the beneficiary can travel to the U.S. If I fly in for the interview, how soon can a beneficiary travel after the approval is given, and is there any expedite mechanism to allow him to return home with me after we are approved?

To answer your first question. In the UK you can only have your medical carried out by the Embassy approved doctor and no other

For your 2nd question, looking at the forums here, some, but I think not all, people are told at the Embassy interview that they have approval and I believe that means they can travel right away.

1. You need to get your medical done by a physician approved by the U.S. Embassy, most embassies have a physician's list available online

2. As soon as he receive the passport and visa after the interview, which can take up to a week in most cases.

Some of the shots for the US medical are non-standard in the UK, and my fiancee is about to have to pay 1,260 pounds for 3 the series of Hep B, Rotovirus, Chicken Pox and Influenza.

This is quite an expense and may delay her immigration for a couple months while we save for these. Anyone else have this sort of shocker, or are there other options? We did look into no immunizations as an option but that adds a serious delay and more paperwork.
