I know it is too much but be ready.... if you have any other RED flags in your case, be ready to address it (like ...previous marriages can be big red flag).

Hi Deep,

Thanks for your input. Just curious what was your AP about at Delhi Consulate? Did you not send all your originals to NVC?

Thanks,

Gagan

I did send all the documents to NVC but still have to submit "must" copies to VFS and we have additional ones..... we were told to take it to Embassy.

Embassy did not want to see any of it and want us to submit it to VFS with the passport.

You will get all the original back NOT police clearance and passport clearance certificate.

Thanks Deep. So from your post it looks like you need to submit your and passport and all copies of all documents at VFS. I thought passport is handed over to officer at Consulate.

Can Loto or someone else shed light on this topic?

you will take your passport and passport copies to VFS...

They will return the passport to you with a receipt for money BUT will keep the copies of the passport.

You need the passport+interview letter to enter embassy

After all done with interview, courier will come and deliver Or you will go to courier office to pick-up passport,

they need the receipt in order to hand over the passport and packages to you.

Deep is mostly correct. I don't know about Delhi Consulate VFS procedure.

But for Chennai interview (last time - in 2008), other than paying VFS passport collection fee and getting their receipt, obviously showing the visa interview appointment letter, my wife had not submitted anything to VFS. In fact, all our originals were with NVC and to the Consulate. We didn't have any other originals in the hand. I don't know how it is now at Chennai too.

I would rather pull other guys who recently completed their interview process like Deep.

Loto
