Consular Officer at Kgn. Embassy is an Idiot

Hey guys,

I went for my Interview yesterday at 7:00 a.m. When it was my time to speak with the "male" Consular Officer the man gave me the Blue Sheet to go do DNA Testing. I had asked on Visa Journey a few weeks ago if the fact that my father's name was added to my Birth Certificate at the age of 12 years if that would cause a problem? The answer is yes. To my surprise this "man" said DNA Testing is what I need. I had a bag full and I literally mean a bag full of evidence and the "man" said he does not want to see them. On their website at travel.state.gov they are the ones who state that the Consular Officer must review all documentation or photographs of the Beneficiary to avoid at all cost a DNA Test. Then if he/she (the Consular Officer) is still not satisfied, then a DNA Test is required. He did not even give me chance. Are these people humans? Do they know how to think outside the box? They think all Jamaicans are thieves, liars and God He knows what else.

This needs to stop. This is all about money for them, nothing else. They sick me. Make DNA Testing Mandatory, so that when it reaches the final stage it does not pose this huge problem and waste a a lot of timr.To file for a relative is extremely expensive. I have not a clue as to how this process works and I desperately need some advise.

If any of you guys have had my experience please advise me on the steps. I know Alysia had this problem a couple months ago. All advises are needed. Thank you.

I think you gotta do the DNA test, as the officer demanded that

It shouldn't take too long, if your father is in Jamaica with you

Good Luck

My father lives in the USA, remember he is the Petitioner and his testing has to be done there. I know I have no choice but to do the DNA, I just need some help/information. Thanks guys.

In reading your story it makes me question my fiance's birth certificate. His father isn't on the birth certificate. Will he have a problem if it isn't on there? Should he fix it now before we get interview date and will they question it the way they questioned yours? Can you do a DNA test in advance just in case they do make it an issue?

Dimples it's a different situation - you are filing for your fiance, not your fiance filing for his father. Mandy's father filed for her. The consulate is requiring that they prove the biological relationship.

Sorry to hear you are going through this, Mandy - it's a crappy situation caused by too many jackets and too much fraud - just know that you will get through this hold your head high and go back and laugh in his face with the results.

so you think its okay in my case for his father not to be on birth certificate?

Plenty of people have gone through without their father on their birth certificate - even with "Unknown" in the biographic information

Yes. The consulars there are very rude and heartless. I was talking and in mid sentence the man said, "that will be all". Hung up the phone and walked away.

The Consular officers are not rude.. And if they are they are just on track to processing these applications... and directing these people as they lack direction.. People are there sleepiing, some are just not looking out for their numbers.... and so the OTHER APPLICATIONS have to Echo the Automated System that called out the number..hmm sure you heard it..!

I was at the kingston, Jamaica office on Monday Novembver 1, 2010 froom 830am - 12:15pm (almost 4 hours) They were very friendly, nice and KEPT a business encounter.. they dont need to Smile with you... but hear what you are saying ... Have a Review of the CONSULAR located in Kingston, Jamaica.. I dont think ANY of the reviews stated that the officers were rude.. they were also about 3-4 recent reviews posted in the last 3 weeks. IT's AMAZING how so many people who are going to their interview or accompaning someone to an interview and CANNNNNNNNNNNOT read or just follow simple instructions... Why cant people just answer the questions that they are asked..? YOU'll never know why somepeople get denied .. perhaps for their listening skills I hope. If you should go back.. sit back relax and see for your self.. There's a guy that gives out the number then sends you inside.. his name is Kevin.. a friend of my dad's ... he's fair.. GO ask him.. why people may be denied.. it's their own fault..

He did not even give me chance. Are these people humans? Do they know how to think outside the box? They think all Jamaicans are thieves, liars and God He knows what else.

The officer Sometimes review the packet.. in most cases not as it is opened when applicants are called up to the first window where documents are checked/fees verified etc.

Sorry this happened as its a very costly process i heard like some US $1000.00. They are human They listened to all persons while I was in the Kinsgston office.. There was a lady who was unable to understand standard english and the necessary adjustments were made for a "fair" interview.

All Jamaica are thives isnt the thought they might have , liars etc. What I can say is you have office that processes birth certificates and the police dept. that issues the Police Clearance Certificates that cheat... that lie.. that accept $$$ to cheat the system that makes it Difficult for many many persons. So you have people presenting the requested documents that are not true... Maybe Someone else's name was added who is not even their child or maybe the person whoes PCC said they have no record going back to 16 is a criminal but because of $$$ they were able to get a document that isnt true of who they are..? Hope you can see how the actions of others WILL affect US.

Mawin Ricardo congrats on your parents approvals --

I agree not all of the officers are rude -- when we had our interview the gentleman that started our interview was extremely nice and friendly, but he was replaced by a more experience officer while I was being questioned. The officer that interviewed me was EXTREMELY rude, yelled, when I asked her to repeat a question she had an attitude BUT I did not let it get to me in any way. I was asked a series of about 25 questions maybe more they were more focused on how I got to the US which was more than 30 years ago than anything else -- felt like I was being interrogated, but once again, I didn't let HER get to me. My fiance was only asked once question (1) -- I just laughed it off. The quicker she fired the questions I fired them right back. People that were seated were even commenting on how rude the woman was. I did get smart with her a few times, but I read into what she was trying to do, which was confuse me with her questions (it didn't work).

mandy jus do what u have to do to get this over with it's not pretty and it's not easy but so life go sometimes.

Dimples -- you're fine and listen to sus (she's) right ...

LOLOL Mawnin  I like this word.. So 99% of the questions were about you though you had lived away for some 30 years... d@mn! I can say that the officer asked my parents questions about the petitioner.. like

How did get to the USA?

Did he marry An American?

Where does he live..?

Thank you , my parents were approved though given a blue Slip because my mom FAILED to follow instructions.. hmm go figure. They reponded yesterday for the BLUE SLIP (Information Window, not an Interview) and the new date is 11.23.10 just to drop off her old passport with her current US Visa..!

Yes, Ricardo 99% of the questions were about me they even asked questions about my parents and their status in the states and who filed for them all though they had nothing to do with our K-1 petition. I just smiled an answered -- nutin else mi could do but dat. So, mommy didn't follow direction that happens sometimes she'll be here soon though and so will the GOOD cooking. My parents are moving back next year...all my dad keeps talking about is his garden. I'll miss them, but it's been in the works for years now.
