If/when you talk about someone who is Indian, do you use the phrase "dot not feather" or "feather not dot" to distinguish between Native Americans or people from India? It seems like an inappropriate way of describing people, what do you think? I forgot to add, I usually would say Native American instead of Indian, which is why I don't see why this distinguishing phrase is necessary. I thought calling a Native American an Indian was a no no.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I didn't mean to get your eyes rolling. It is a serious question.

Yet, paradoxically, it's posted in the OT Forum. Should this thread be more properly entitled, Room Full of Horsefeathers or something a bit more feculent in nature.

yeah that is pretty common. dot not feather, or feather not dot.

it is also really stupid.

What happens when a Sioux marries a Bengali? Are their kids dot-feathers or feather-dots? Inquiring minds want to know.
