Contrary to what a certain immigrant may lead you to believe, there actually are safe areas in major US cities, even Detroit.

But how does your quality of life compare to the rest of the first world?

Hmm, let's see.

Abundant mass transit options within 5 miles but not in walking distance - below 1st world standards

1 art museum within 5 miles - below 1st world standards

dozens of great places to eat from a variety of cultures - meets 1st world standards

walkable neighborhood, but nowhere worth walking to (besides the park) - below 1st world standards

world class universities and university hospitals within 5 miles - exceeds 1st world standards

world class corporate and research facilities within 5 miles - exceeds 1st world standards

public schools are good by american standards so.. - below 1st world standards

i call it a tie

And my first world country doesn't need foreign troops to keep it safe from the dragon.

But we know that there is no need for a military in the US. It is a waste of money in this modern, friendly, peace loving world in which we live. But what will those other countries do without our help? Surrender?

we got a 5%, musta been them pesky raccoons getting into the garbage that raised that. :hehe:

Crime index? 100 is safest. You must be looking at a different metric. I assume your index will be near 100.

we have big raccoons :P

I'd look at the map. Your census division may be drawn to include some high crime area.

I looked closer, none of the areas within this city have 17 and I'm in the 51 area. A zone right next to mine is 84. No zones say 17 yet it says 17 for the overall area!??
