The insurance based health care system here is a joke anyway. Constitutional or not, a NHS is the most efficient and cost effective system. Not to mention, the better performing of the two systems.

That's the big problem. The current health care system is #######. It was workable 20 years ago, but it has devolved into a monstrosity. I'm not sure why extending the current crappy system to cover everyone is the best Washington can come up with.

Yeah, but it should be about fixing it. The current system used to work well for most people most of the time. Now it works well for some people some of the time. Ten or fifteen years down the road, it's not going to work well for anyone.

Like every market force, it either has to correct itself, or it has to disappear.

Really, as bad as this is to say necessarily, the only true/real thing that could bring down the 'cost' of health care at this point in time for the next let's say 20 years, is a technology dark age..... If we'd stop spending on the latest and greatest that works .003% better than the last one, but costs 500% more, then that would actually help quite a bit.

Then offering possible tax incentives to those who want to go into the medical field as well.
