exactly, and whoever is responsible is the one to blame, because when CSC focuses on a special type of petition they really do approve them quickly

I doubt it's one person to blame...I'm sure it's very complex and full of politics we'll never be privy to.

Oh well...I just want my damn NOA2. Before American Thanksgiving would be really nice, it'd be nice to have a copy of it to show A's family at turkey dinner. I know I will NOT be thanking CSC for Thanksgiving, though.

thank god we dont have thanksgiving,i would be mad pissed after all CSC has put us through, there is nothing to thank as far as the visa process has been going ,at least not for now.

i wonder if they are approving cases, and the approved petitions are just on VJ or people havent updated their timeline.they seem to be going slow again.

Piss on that, toast yourself for not having gone insane and shooting everyone in close distance who is married and/or lives together.

At least, I'm thankful I haven't.*

Haha the ROFL'ing emoticon?

I like this one: :energy:

Anyhoo, back to the Thanksgiving thing, A's family is ALL ABOUT the questions for J when they see me. Every time I see his sister, it's like she has a proverbial Rolodex of questions to ask me and she can hardly talk fast enough to get them all out in one breath. So it'd be nice if at Thanksgiving when they inevitably are like "So what's going on with the visa?!?!" I can be like "The petition was approved!" instead of blithering about how it's not approved yet...maybe next week. I just hate explaining the visa stuff to people who haven't done it. I try to explain it as simply as possible but I think it still goes over their heads.

What?

This IS the government we're talking about here. Who do you think we're waiting on to approve our petitions?

Opps. I was not very clear I guess. I was thinking that if I were stupid (and sometimes there are whole days when I avoid that) I would not want to be compared to a government worker (an oxymoron by the way).

But you are correct, it is the government we are waiting on. and waiting and waiting ...

It doesn't get any easier explaining after your petition gets approved, trust me. When people ask me about visa it I tell them that our petition for visa got approved and they're like "So you finally got your visa, congrats!" And then I have to explain that no, I don't have my visa yet and that I still have so much paperwork to do and have an interview and then they are like "so what's the interview for?" Never ending questions, lol. I can't wait till the day when I can say YES, I finally got my visa! :)

Crossing fingers for everyone still waiting! I hope you get your NOA2's by Thanksgiving!

OH GOD that emoticon is terrifying!

Anyway, yes I'm beyond tired of the questions. People watch the film Green Card and think it's that easy. My friends are like, "So, um, didn't you like get engaged forever ago? Should we be requesting off work for a wedding or something?" It's so difficult when we have so many of his friends and family planning on flying here for the wedding and we can't really tell them to book flights until we at least know the interview date. I'm telling everyone when the time comes to just buy an insured flight, so at the very least they can move around the dates if need be.

Yeah it would suck if you got put in AP or they took a long time to print your visa (Montreal is famous for that). I'm lucky that way, between here (where my parents live) and A's city is less than 2 hours by car. The rest of my family lives 2-2.5hrs from here but that still isn't very far, it's like a 4 or 5 hour drive for them.

oh to top off the 12 weeks average wait for iranian beneficiaries,i also learned that ALL iranian citizens go into AP,when SOME turkish citizens get AP after interview.

i dare people to tell me your nationality doesnt effect this process in any way shape or form.

Every country sucks for one reason or another I've realized. The mid-east and Africa because the consulates are hard to get through. Canada (well, Montreal, not Vancouver) sucks because it takes so long to get an interview and our consulate is managed very poorly.

This whole process sucks for everybody! I wish I lived in the UK though...London is like the world's fastest consulate it seems (gap1 will surely tell me otherwise, hehe).

gap1 hasn't come along yet, so i will correct you. London is taking just short of 3 months to process from NVC to interview. I wouldn't call that fast.

If i were going through Bucharest, then i would be overjoyed. Just short of 1 month to process from NVC to interview.

And VSC is catching CSC up. The latest approval taking 4 months.
