Not trying to be negative.. but don't forget these CSC folks will get holiday time off too... Veteran's Day... Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. That's about 2 weeks worth of additional backlog. Hopefully, they don't leave work early for holiday parties. This really sucks.

Here's the big question... will they ever get caught up or will people keep getting the runaround while they continue to cash $455 checks per pop? I'm no genius, but it would seem like they would staff up to catch up. I'm sure there are many qualified people sitting on unemployment looking for some job security right about now.

The fee drops to $340 on Nov 23rd, so factor in all the people who have been waiting to file because of the fee drop who will suddenly send in their packets. At least we're all in line in front of them :)

You want a refund because it's taking as long as USCIS said it would? ...

honestly i would pay up to 2000 personally ( as the beneficiary, and i know my petitioner would too ) if only we saw more effort on their side.having said that, they are not out of time range, people are still getting approved before the five months mark.we were all just mislead that it " could " take up to five months.

oh well, what can you do?withdraw the petition and move to another country?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I figured it'd take 2-3 months and we'd be approved, which seems to be the norm if you didn't file in the summer. Apparently this time of year is always slow; I wish I had known that when we filed.

This process would be 3864582526 times easier if you KNEW how long it was going to take for each step.

I think they were being cheeky...as in, government workers are below stupid people.

I worked for the federal government in Canada for 3 years (hoping to again very soon) so it kind of bugs me. Not all government employees are lazy, stupid drones in an office.

Heh, you said cheeky.

Sorry I'm still at work and my brain is too fried to pick up on sarcasm...which is my first language so I'm a bit ashamed.

I don't think all government employees are lazy. I think a lot of them have to deal with being underpaid, underemployed, and understaffed. I wonder if those at the CSC realize that each file contains 2 or more lives.

I think they do. Did you ever read that interview with the former Nebraska Service Center file adjudicator? He/she talked about how it was rewarding being an adjudicator, knowing you're changing people's lives, and how they liked looking at our photos and stories, etc. He/she said each file takes about 15 minutes to approve or decide on an RFE. They must get A LOT of files if each one only takes 15 minutes and they're this backed up.

Ugh...I'm so ready to be done waiting for this.

i think people tend to forget government employees just do as they are told,IF CSC was slow because it has crappy employees it would have been even slower

The person on the other end of the phone told you five months because they are told that it can take five months to process. They will never tell you any other time frame. This does not mean it won't happen sooner. In my estimation, if CSC doesn't take another break like the 2 month hiatus this year, many of us will see our NOA2s in 3-4 months. Just don't be surprised if it is 5 months. It's best to plan on it being five months, stay away from this message board but a couple times a week (or less), and find things to occupy your time until you get an unexpected email from CSC.

polite way of saying.. get a life ? :0

Doesn't every person do as they're told in a job? But I see what you mean. I don't think it's individual employees' faults, it's the CSC office as a whole. Probably more to do with crappy management than crappy employees.

exactly, and whoever is responsible is the one to blame, because when CSC focuses on a special type of petition they really do approve them quickly
