And, NVC is not involved with your petition at this time, USCIS is. Look at your timeline and then look at ours. Compare the two and you will have more information on when to expect something next. For now, you wait.....

but....for more information and entertainment, mvoe on over to the RUB regional forum where there a tons of folks who are in your and have been in your situation.

I don't know when I said that NVC was involved in my case. I referenced NSCS (USCIS's National Customer Service Center). I know I need an NOA2 before my case goes to NVC.

Otherwise, thank you for the info and suggestion about the regional forum!

I just got off the phone with the USCIS customer service center about my fiancee visa application.

I specifically asked the agent I spoke to if there was an additional hold being placed on batches of visa applications, he checked on this and stated that the processing time is still five months for CSC and that if there were a significant back-log that they would update that time. I filed mine in August so he said that it would still be processed within the five month time-frame meaning that I should hear something within the next two months.

You don't consider paying $300 or $400 or $9,000 worth it to be with your fiance? Personally, I've hated the wait every bit as much as the next person, but I would never be ungrateful that this is a relatively easy process. Yes, the wait is absolutely brutal, and the gathering of a million pieces of paper is mundane.... but for the most part, if you have no sketchy past, or someone with your name has no sketchy past, you will be awarded the LUXURY and PRIVILEGE to be with the person you love.

I'm not saying it's completely fair, and that people of high fraud consulates are not denied and are not put in AP for no real reason... but considering how high fraud some consulates are, the process is still relatively easy, since the US government could just deny every single case from high fraud counties, or any country. Just imagine if someone said, "No foreign fiance(e)s. You may ONLY marry within your nationality.".

It's like when my kids want their science test, social studies test, spelling activities, and novel studies back the VERY NEXT DAY. I just keep saying, I'm one person, you are 30. Give me some time. CSC/VSC are however many people... and they get tens of thousands of applications. I'm not saying there was not a hiatus on K1s earlier this fall, there most certainly was, and it was frustrating, but they still employ way less people than they get petitions.

Just my two cents. I'm sure I'm in the minority with my opinion here, so comment away if you like. I just choose to be grateful that I will be with my fiance in hopefully less than a year, assuming Montreal gets it together with interviews. It's better than never.

NO! they can not force anyone to marry within their nationality or anything as such. Second, WE are upset because the long wait has not been justified; Security screening has not been a problem for delays in most parts of the world. Thirdly, we are NOT asking for a favor from the Gov't, we have to be qualified based on our criminal background, financially etc.. We are not trying to smuggle illegal immigrants here in the U.S. We are law abiding citizens who have paid for services that are not worth our $$$$$$'S worth. Again, $455.00+ just for a visa and have to wait for 6 to 9 months to get is what I am mad about. The service SUCKS!!! I give them a 2 1/2 on a scale of 10.

Backlog means incompetent. NO company will admit that they are falling behind and not able to keep up with the expectation of customers. I got the feeling that since there is no competion in this type of business, you get what you get!!! BUT it is wrong and the Gov't should have higher standards...Especially when it comes to Immigration. They should be saying to Illegal Smugglers that "we have a system that works."

The government is not a company, it is a government. They are not obliged to offer us speedy service, it is what it is.

Actually, the U.S. government is obliged to offer whatever the people demand as the government represents the U.S. Citizen. Abraham Lincoln stated that the U.S, government is "For the people, by the people and of the people" and the Constitution has that to a degree in it as well. Such services are in place to assist the public. As such, the people demand that they get their act together and that this service be set to the standard it should be at. Sad thing is, if this service WAS run by a private company, it would be running a lot more efficiently.

The system can and should be improved.

USCIS is like a huge Human Resources branch, and anyone working or has worked with the U.S. Government knows exactly how 'efficient ' HR is...

it's a process, yes, a painful process. keep in mind, U.S Gov is no a company, if they were they will be out of business loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. also we dont know how they work, so sometime it take time to do things.(I am sure there are a lot of place can be improve, but if you are able to do something about it, please do so. if not, just complaining or say how bad the USG work, that wont change anything. trust me, everyone here know how "good" the USG work.) all we can do are wait and vent. a lot of time, things are easier said than done.

My timeline is not the only thing that matters. I feel for those who have already waited for 4 months+ and speak for them. I am not expecting better tratment; we are all in this together. Also, I dont believe any of us were expecting a 30 day service, but...150 days between noa1 and noa2 is just not acceptable. They need 'MAN POWER' not excuses like "we are backloged" As a matter of fact, if you worked for me and you told me that you were backlog as an excuse...I would have you fired on the spot. You should rather say " I need help! the work load has increased. Do you know how many people are unemployed and would be more than happy to have worked for the gov't?

Just a bit of encouragement for people who are really worried right now. I sent in our application on Aug. 6th, eceived NOA1 with receipt date of Aug. 12th. Received NOA2, our application was approved about 2 maybe 3 weeks ago. I don't know how we got through so quickly except a whole lot of prayers but it was less than 3 months from the date I dropped it in the mail to the date that I received the approval. Keep praying and being hopeful and it will happen eventually.

It is hard to believe there are so many people in this forum that have such a negative view of the United States government especially since they are either trying to immigrate to the U.S. or bring a loved one here.

I don't mind the wait because it is MY government doing the job that I asked them to do. I few months waiting is nothing for a lifetime of being with the one you love in the United States.
