I applied to remove my conditional status, and my new green card was approved on June 18. I received the new green card on August, with my last name misspelled. I sent an I-90 on September 9th, and on September 15th I received a notice of action telling me that my application was being processed with my corrected last name. I still didn't receive my green card. Now I called USCIS and they told me it may take up to 180 days! We are not talking about a whole application to be approved but a new plastic with their mistake corrected.

Has anybody experienced such a long wait for an I-90?

Thanks!

It can actually take 6 months to get a new Green Card. That is the reason I tell those clueless people to keep it at home at a safe place. Losing it is not just a matter of money; it's a matter of time as well. Like . . . being without a driving license for half-a-year due to not being able to provide proof of legal presence.

There's nothing you can do but wait, even though the immigration people screwed up. Sorry.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Same boat here. In fact almost exact time line. I sent my I-90 in on September 7th and got NOA for September 15th. One thing I can tell you is don't expect to see anything before December or so. On the USCIS processing times it's running about 3.5 months for I-90's to be processed. So far it's only been 8 weeks. Maybe in another 6 or so you'll hear something. Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys. It's amazing how long it takes to reprint a plastic.

I applied to remove conditions in mid-March, got the first wrong green card about 5 months later, and I feel it's so unfair to wait 3 to 6 additional months because they got my last name misspelled. The worst thing is, as soon as I received a notice of action with my last name misspelled, I made an appointment with InfoPass and notified them. Their answer was that because my case was approved they couldn't even see my case in the system to notify a correction. That's ridiculous. They had time to fix it in a computer and send me the right plastic... this also costs them money and delays...
