my fiancee has a uncle in ghana that wants to come to the usa to buy heavy equipment here and ship it to ghana. (i guess they do this a lot i hear) anyway ive met him a few times in ghana and he wants me to send a invitation to him? for a visa. i dont understand what he is asking. and if i do this will it conflict with my k1 visa that i have applied for? any suggestions on what to do would be great!

can i have a friend do his tourist visa? if so where do i start.

An invitation won't help, he needs to qualify for a business (B1) visa himself, by showing ties to Ghana.

ok so how does he go about that?

how does he go about that?

If indeed he wants to buy heavy machinery then he should have a company or a contact from where he wants to buy the machine or equipment, he can then make a deposit and hv the slips as proof at his interview and/or have the company or contact send him a formal invitation from the company asking him to come visit for business. Then at his interview he will show his business documents and all the above and the CO will determine whether he is elgible for a visa. if u give him a letter to invite him u will also hv to add some of ur personal documents to really prove that u r actually the one that sent him the invitation, which i believe will entitle him to a tourist visa not a business visa. So he will hv to decide whether he is coming for a tourist visa or business visa. in my opinion it will not hv any effect on the k1 if u decide to invite him to the states, but he stands 98 percent chance of being refused cos u cant invite him for the purpose of doing business, its up to the business entity in the states to do that, but on the other hand if hes there for tourism then u can do that. in my personal opinion, u don hv the relevant relationship with him to invite him, ur fiance is not even approved yet so i dont think there's a relationship. im nt an immigration expert so u can seek advice elsewhere. wish u all the best
