Good Morning All,

I received my wifes packets 3 & 4 last week in the mail much to my suprise I thought they were going to go to her in Colombia.

Oh well at least I received them. Her appt. is on March 7th in Bogota, Colombia. I am reading all the instructions and I have a few questions. I have read about all the documents that she needs to present at the interview and for the most part she has them all in order but why does she need to fill out another DS-230? I sent one to the NVC back in December. The one they sent me in the packet is both in spanish and english. I already have an extra one filled out from when I did the first one. (I filled it out online...I love those fillable documents it makes things so much nicer and neater :) ) Can I have her just sign and date the extra one I have and submit this at the interview? It's exactly the same as the one I sent to the NVC in December.

Also it also asks her to bring $380.00 in cash or pesos for the application fee. As everyone knows we pay this amount to the NVC. (which I did in December) so what's this all about? Do I just ignore this? It also asks that she brings with her my I-864 AOS and all the supporting documents for it. Once again I sent all these documents to the NVC before. Do I have to get all these papers together again or I can just bring the copies I made of the originals? Don't they (NVC) forward all these documents to the embassy? The instructions also ask for a certified copy of her parents marriage certificate. Do she really need this? Her birth father died when she was very young. I am just trying to be all prepared for the interview process and I don't want anything to go wrong due to I didn't have the proper documentation with me. I have been waiting almost a year for this day. :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I am just worrying for nothing but its better to be safe than sorry!!!!! :D

thanks for all your help people...believe me I would have been lost without this forum to guide me the way.

suerte,

Greg

p.s. does anybody know of a nice & clean hotel near the embassy in Bogota, Colombia?
