Can anyone :help:

My American fiance and I have been waiting since July 16th when we got our first NOA, and having filed with California, and their average time being 5 months, we thought we should have heard from them by now.

Can anyone else tell me their experience in regards to time between NOA 1and 2? I was hoping they'd contact us about an interview etc but so far, nothing.

Thanks

you are still within the 5 month mark and unfortunately they are avg about 5months if not more this time of year. So just relax you will hear from them soon. good luck the rest of the way. Also the california svc center will not be contacting you about the interview they will notify you of your NOA2. you wont get any interview details or info until after your receive your NOA2. :)

Cool - thanks for the info - i don't mind the waiting so much, it's the not knowing, and that each case is individual so there are no definites

getting involved with this site is quite reassuring, knowing others are going through / have sucessfully gone through this ordeal!

i'll just try and relax and wait it out :)

I don't kknow where you guys get the idea of five months...I have been reading a whole lot of the posts where these couples get their visas mostly after 6 or 7 months. It does not matter when you get NOA1 or NOA2, if you get your visa after 8 months, then 8 months is your timeline. In my understanding the I 129f (to be more specific) is not serving it's purpose. By the way is there any one out there who can tell us why they came with the I 129 petition? I am asking because its no difference now between the I 129 and the I 130. Infact, If I had to do it all over I would go for the I 130... It is less expensive with your partner getting their green card much sooner, and more. Think about it and do the math before reply. Again the uscis or whoever is responsible are not using the I 129 K 1 visa for it's original purpose. It's that simple.

They're not talking about the whole visa taking 5 months, they're taking about the time between the NOA1 and NOA2, which USCIS advises can take 5 months.

The I-129F and I-130 are not visas, they are forms. There are many reasons why someone would prefer to do the K1 instead of the CR-1. There was a thread about it awhile ago and most people agreed it was because they didn't want to be separated for their first year of marriage. And the visas and their processing are a bit different, it is not "exactly the same."

Met: December 2009

Married: April 2015

Received CR-1 visa: February 2017

POE (as IR-1): April 2017

Oath ceremony: November 2020

my fiance and I got our visa in about 7months the interview was two days shy of the 7 month mark but waiting for the physical Visa to be produce put us in the 7month category. When I mentioned 5 months I was talking about the time between NOA1 and NOA2...Good luck to ya the rest of the way :)

there are still quite a few with midjune filing dates from CSC that haven't gotten their noa2.

my filing date is july 6, realistically expecting my noa2 between november 26-december 3rd, unless they somehow kick into gear. seems to be around 140-155 day wait atm from CSC.

i wish people would take the time to take progress reports before asking whether or not its normal to be waiting for the amount they have been.

here, this helps me a lot, at least it shows that SOMETHING is actually happening at CSC and gives me a rough guesstimate...it is very helpful

thanks to those of you who have let me know that this waiting game is the norm...

and to those of you who seem annoyed about me asking if it's the norm, obviously, i have looked at as much info as i can, but a time line or a rough idea on a web page is no way near as informative or comforting as hearing from real people who have experienced this, so please, don't get pissed that i may be asking a question that you already know the answer to.

we're all in the same boat of being separated from our loved ones and someone taking time to reply nastily to a question they could easily ignore doesn't help anyone.

i think we can all agree that info on every website differs from every other website and there are no definite answers so getting as many diffeent answers means that i can see (the tiniest!) glimmer of light at the end of the (heartbreakingly difficult) tunnel!
