Im married to U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, my husband is a civilian contractor regularly stationed abroad working in support of the US government in Afghanistan. His contract will end in 2012. Im living oversea with my children in the Philippines. Can I qualify for this INA 319b for I cannot reside with my husband in Afghanistan because restrictions are imposed by the U.S. government preclude dependents for residing there. Since, we cannot reside with him in Afghanistan, my husband is the one who visits and stays with us in the Philippines everTy 6 months. Can naturalization be granted to me if we reside by close proximity or in a different location? Your help and answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Im now a US citizen!!! I was interviewed and had taken my oath April 11, 2011. I applied for a US passport April 13 and had it expedite and received it April 30, 2011.

I want to take VisaJourney.com...it helps me with my journey of my citizenship. I know my case is different but take courage to submit N400 319b application. I didnot hire a lawyer and did it on my own. If i had questions I take time read all the comments/experience with same case I have.

Thank you ..thank you...

I am so glad to find this post. I am in the same situation and you are the first one person that I found who was able to successfully do it since 319b's condition is to be with spouse. I know it has been a while, but do you mind sharing how you did it and what documents you submitted?

Does anybody know if a greencard holder, who's been living overseas for 8+ yrs with US citizen husband who's been working for a US company (satisfies 319b), can apply for US citizenship right after we move back to US? I was not sure if i wanted to change my nationality in the past years. Now we are about to move back to Houston, and my husband has plan to retire in thailand in the future, so i am thinking that might be a good idea for me to apply for US citizenship before he retires to Thailand.... Thanks
