That's what I told them, that we'd get all the expedite documents scanned in as well in PDF form..so I'm pretty sure she understood what I meant. Hopefully my wife gets her butt in gear and gets the required stuff..good thing we got a scanner at her house..I can do all of that next week when I'm there. Or the lawyer will do it..I'll bust his butt too, if he slacks.

Call NVC and get IIN. That's the next step. Once you have it, check the payment portal (it is different payment portal that we used) if the invoices for AOS and IV are ready.

ok, I'm gonna do that tomorrow..I forgot to ask for the IIN tonight when I had her on the phone..what time do they open tomorrow...only drawback is that I'll have to deal with my attorney and get on his #### to make the payments for us when that stuff does come in.

mate the nvc are open til midnight im pretty sure and i think its est too.

get your email set for the expedite. you can write it for her to save you some time. print it, sign it and scan it. attach it to your email request along with the other documents you'll need. nvc and consulate are appearing to be quicker than the uscis when making a decision for expedite.

we were through in 5 days or so, and as soon as your request goes in, its emailed to the consulate the same day.

give them a couple of days or so after that and call to check the status of it. i was expecting a month or so, but they seem very proactive there. hopefully montreal wont be too busy

if you have confidenin your documents you used at uscis for the expedite you can use them at the nvc too. just re word your request to the nvc instead of the uscis. we used some of the documents.

problem is, she's got all of the ###### at her house...she's technologically challenged..so she's gathering the stuff, and when I get there next week, I'm gonna bust all that out. I'm gonna have to wait a week regardless...so in the meantime I'm gonna try to get that IIN tomorrow, my police check and long form B.Cert this week. Attorney said he was going to send me a checklist of things taht he already has from us...and whatever else he needs.

I haven't gotten to the NVC phase but today I had my wife in Montreal go to Identification Canada to get a police certificate. They charged her $50 Canadian and told her she would recieve it in the mail in about a week. If you need the link its here.

Ok..here's the situation (pulling up my shirt) Got my IIN this morning, emailed the lawyer to tell him the info. I checked the Portal, says not invoiced yet..ok..it's been 2 days since they put it in the system.

So the lawyer replies to me, tells me that we can't pay on the AOS or anything yet until we get the BarCODE thing from NVC...so, someone explain to me how that all works now? please thank you and grassyazz.

Im with you. My wife has got the same there, shes got all the info - but im doing all the letter writing for her, for no other reason than - as she'd admit - she's useless at it!

If it was up to her we'd still be waiting for our NOA1! She's too polite and doesnt like to tread on toes.

My police certificate cost me $100 US almost, and its got nothing on it apart from my photo and the fact saying they have no info held on me!

Expensive for the service, but priceless nontheless!

NVC will not send you barcode.

When the invoices are ready to pay, pay it.

In 1 to 2 days time, the status will show as PAID. Then print out the barcode cover letter from the payment portal.
