Oh well, better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees.........

That's exactly why I don't believe in any of the major religions; I refuse to live on my knees.

I judge you not buuuut time will tell ...in the time of all our deaths and Judgement who is right...but ME personally I would rather ....

All depends on how you define "living on your knees" I suppose.

Good one Jean

I am flying out next month with the Hijab on. Will say if they give me a trouble...

well dont wear one then.........problem solved.

I am not even going to really reply to your comment the way I want...cos I should be calm as a cucumber and not be rude, as I donnot know you and cannot judge you, I am not the God...but all I can say is..I realise you are not Muslim and you probably donnot understand what it is for...but if someone decides to wear that, it is with much thought (hopefully) and is not easy to just take off...nor should be...

First off Rahma, cute Hijebi emoticon, second...I feel ya sister...almost everyday is a struggle...but we keep on going you know...thinking about the next life... so bravo sister...I am with you... (F)

It isn't simply a matter of not wearing one. In fact, taking it off does not solve the problem, but rather creates a bigger one. Taking it off gives in to the fear mongering and hatred. Wearing hijab in the face of hostility is a trial and a test that can increase one's faith. It's also a sign to show that one is not ashamed of being muslim hijab.gif

Wearing it proudly and showing the world that you can be a muslim and *gasp* not be a terrorist and a nice person does far more to solve the problem then taking it off. That's my mission every day

This is a public forum so yes, I have a right to say anything I want. The fact that you put info about yourself and your fiance also makes it up for grabs...sorry. Anyhooo....many of your statements point to intolerance. Remember this one?....my fiance will use TP, I will not put a watering can in my bathroom..something to that effect. Everyone knows Muslims use water to clean after the toilet. Will you also tell him he's not allowed to eat Algerian food because he's in the states now? Boy do I feel sorry for him. Now women shouldn't wear higab because other ppl don't like. We live in a big, big world full of all different kinds of ppl. Deal with it.

I'm me...that's who the hell I think I am!

Yalla Yalla Heyye Mrs. Z :D I agree with you 100%

LOL I have been profiled too..and I am whiter then white...

Yep, I've been profiled too  and I'm as white as white can be. It didn't bother me, though. I thought it was kinda funny. Oh yeah I'm sooo scary with my bad azz higab.

I dont think people of european heritage are going to be profiled. The fact still remains that all the terrorists are from the middle east. So inorder to make the travel safe, we need to comply with safety concerns. I would like to add that Pakistanis are descriminated against in Saudi. True we have to act like a mosaic but as muslims we need to understand the reality of times and stop creating a fuss about things.

I've been profiled  But again, what I'm complaining about here is not profiling. If I pass through all the security checks, once, twice, three times, then I'm safe to be on the plane and act in my normal manner. I'f I've passed the security checks, then no mob should be able to pitch me off because they find my manner of dress bizare or that I may speak in a different language.

Most buses in the Houston metro are filled with African Americans. The only difference is that the whites have moved on and have left the buses. Progress cannot be accomplished by simply demanding rights but by rather having a positve attitude and hard work. Jews are the best example. Asians didnt demand rights, they worked their way up. Its the turn of Muslims to show they are peaceful, law abiding and adaptable.

One can both demand their rights and have a positive hard working attitude.

European ancesstory is the majority in the country. Majority rules. That has to be accepted.

funny, one of the things I learned in all my american government classes (poli sci major and all) was that here, although we have rule of the majority, the minority's rights are to be protected. The will of the majority should not be imposed on that of the minority.
