Never read anywhere in the USCIS literature about bringing in a state ID, but I put all of our photo ID cards on my scanner that showed our photos and address as a form of evidence that we did indeed share a common address. Never read anything either about bringing in a utility bill, but was also requested with both our names on it.

So who is coming up with these rules? Has to be the office manager making rules up as they go along.

Our DMV is getting slow too, claims they are losing money, so recently increased a drivers' license renewal from $20 to $35 and vehicle registration from $55 to $75. Takes about three minutes to process a renewal, that is 20 per hour or and intake of 700 bucks per hour per agent. Offices that can't keep up that pace were closed, so in small towns have to drive 40 miles to the nearest DMV.

Everything is done for the convenience of the government today.
