Hello,

I'm putting together my I129f and I need to have my fiancee's divorce decree translated from Russian to English by a certified translator.

Can anyone out there who has had this done recommend a service?

"11.3 Foreign Language Documents and Translations.

(a) Document Translations. All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator. See 8 CFR 103.2(cool.gif(3)."

Thanks, I'm aware of the requirements, what I'm looking for is a recommendation for a certified translator or translation service. I can find many using Google but I'd feel more confident if I had a referral

I posted that info because maybe you know someone who's fluent in both Russian and English and could translate it for you. The translator would merely have to type the statement I linked above. But if you're looking for referrals, hopefully someone else will step in and help you out.

Translations for USCIS do not have to be done by a certified translator as many members can attest to. It only needs to be done by someone that is conversant in both the english and foreign language and certifed as such using the format that Mew linked.

OK that's good news! Thank you... I'm just beginning this process and I can't tell you how relieved I am to have this forum.
