NBI Clearance for Minor?

Hi all,

I have a quick question. I know minors are not required to submit a police clearance during the NVC stage.

Does NVC require minors to submit an NBI clearance?

I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I think you answered your own question. NBI IS the police clearance for the PI. I am assuming you are applying for an immigrant visa for a child? It says:

7. NBI CLEARANCE. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI web site is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

and out of the K-1 package:

On edit, this was from the interview guides. I know all the stuff from the interview guides was sent to the NVC, and supposed to have a copy of all documents for the interview.

Doh! I thought they were two separate documents.

they are 2 separate documents, but if you to the reciprocity check on the PI it says that the NBI is the only accepted form of clearance needed. Police clearances can be faked real easy in the PI...the NBI covers the whole PI. dont worry, I got Mhay to get her police clearance and NBI....but in the end I only sent the NBI.
