Can anyone tell me if an error was made on the I-130 form for Step child will USCIS deny the petttion. we incorrectly check the box that says wife instead of child. When we receive the NOA1 the PREFERENCE CLASSIFICATION said UNKNOWN. i am so worried

Mistakes/errors = RFE or Denial.

You selected Wife.. you will get an RFE most likely.. FOR proof of relationship for WIFE. You probably will get a denial aand may be required to refile/pay.

You may respond to the RFE for wife since non was included... and place a note... seeing if they will approve the changes.

the i 130 was for my son but we checked the wrong box (we put wife insteasd)but all the documents were sent to validate the stepchild relationship.

You need to better contact USCIS to resolve this issue.
