Mass Recalls & Government Investigation Can't Keep TOYOTA Down...

We have a Toyota and it is a great vehicle...bought it last year.

However, over this past year I have to admit that I am seeing some pretty good cars coming out of America: The new Camaro, the Ford Focus and Fusion, and the new Challenger and Charger are all great American cars.

I lived for 10 years in Detroit and watched the union mentality contribute heavily to the demise of that once great city. I totally swore off buying American cars. However, I have to admit that these new American cars above look like they would run my Toyota off the road! So...I might have to eat my words next time and buy an American car.

I often hear this "buy made in USA" or "have pride in America." Does that mean purchasing a more expensive, inferior product?

I've never understood the whole, "I don't buy foreign." I am an American, and as such, I am a capitalist. I will buy the cheapest and best product I can regardless of where it was made or who made it. I will not rely on the govt. to set prices and moreover, I'm appalled when I hear people support that notion. Taxes, tariffs, duties, etc., are nothing more than attempts to undermine a free market and until we can stop the govt. from doing so, we'll never have true competition here in America ever again.

Free market means competing with a Chinaman who puts in 12 hour days, six days a week, for $150 a month.

Free market sucks.
