Hello!

I have been unemployed on almost 2 months now. A friend of mine told me that I am eligible to apply to unemployment. Going to file to lift conditions on my greencard. Would that affect my permanent gc application in a bad way. Can I file for unemployment? Thank you.

running a quick search has shown that you are eligible for unemployment. You need to check the restrictions on unemployment benefits that apply to anyone (LPR, citizen).

It should have no affect on your GC status.

I would personally browse your state's unemployment benefits website to find this information.

Unemployment is an "insurance" paid by the employers not a means-tested benefit so you are more than entitled to receive it is you meet the requirements. Most states have a website with more information and where you can also apply for benefits online.

Yes there are requirements regarding how long you have worked and the conditions of your employment ending.
