Hello to all my VJ friends. I have been off-line about 3 weeks and finally have internet back today.

I had some surgery and am home now and my husband in Morocco and I are making plans for his flight leaving from Casablanca and arriving at JFK in NYC for the port of entry. The confusion is Air Maroc does not fly out any other times but 12:35 pm Morocco time and will arrive at JFK about 03:45 pm......

My question is....in choosing a date it seems there are some layovers of about 5-6 hrs spending the night at some stops like charlotte for the cheaper flights and I don't want to put him through this on his first travel....so we have an option of departing at 6:29 pm from JFK NYC and arrive at Charlotte at 8:40 pm....Leave Charlotte (CLT) at 10:35 pm and arrive in my hometown of Huntsville at 10:56 pm...straight flight from Charlotte to Huntsville, Al. Will my husband have time to get off the flight and through baggage claim and customs and his interview and back to his terminal from 3:45-6:30 pm??? I know it is pushing it but I hate him having to stay overnight at an airport for 5-6 hrs after all his travels. Anyone flown recently and would like to share their experiences? It will be around Thanksgiving too...not sure yet of the date but less than 3 weeks.

Thanks for any advice.

Hey Lisa, glad to see you back and hope ur surgery is successful and your back on your feet in no time.

Something to keep in mind as well....if M'hammed flight is delayed by an hour in Morocco like my was 2 hours at casablanca in march, i would have missed my connecting flight in JFK to Cincinnati.

Always remember that when connecting, its your flight leaving that matters as well.

I would not cut it short at all and play it safe.

Bye for now.

OH yeahhhh don't forget to tell him to be at airport in morocco 2 hrs early. If he is not checked into gate by one hour before flight leaves they will not let him through. Mohammed's sister left for dubai and they were late and they made them stay and leave 2 days later, and repay for the ticket.

It's great to know that M'hammed might be flying back with you two on the same day. I hope it all works out so at least you three can meet and you can ease his nervousness on the plane. It would make me feel at ease. I'm thinking too about getting him a room to rest after the trip to NYC and him flying out on Dec 1st with the 11:30 am flight leaving JFK. I am worried he will not have enough time to make his connecting flight by 6:30....The lady in Atlanta with Delta said he would but only if all goes smoothly and she did say that most delays are traveling back and not to...so its a gamble I think.....Plus JFK and Atlanta in the same day...two major airports will be tough....he will still have exactly about 1 hr from time he arrives at Atlanta to make his connecting flight to Huntsville but she said he can do it.....call me sometime tomorrow if you would like........thank you for the birthday wishes...I forgot to tell you!

Hi Lisa.,

I know how difficult JFK is just to go from terminal to terminal and use that dang tram/train. Heck, I still get lost and I have done it now 5 times LOL. I have only used the train once, so if we have to use it, it shall be an experience for the three of us LOL but I promise to get him thru that mess and own his way to you on time. Your M'hammed and my Mohammed should go together through POE at the same time, so as there is no great waiting time for either of them to wait.

I will call you when we arrive as well, so M'hammed can talk to you and ease your mind Lisa, as I know you will be wondering how things are going.good.gif

Talk to you soon.

Bye
