Advise on how soon you should follow-up with congresswoman after you requesed expedited service?

I need advise on how long I should wait before I follow-up with our congresswoman to see if they were able to get any information from USCIS on expediting my husband's EAD?

I just put in the request on 11-3-10 and I don't want to seem to anxious, but by the same token I don't want my husband to lose this job offer either.

The processing times for EAD is usually 3 months. You did your biometrics about a week ago, and as I see from your timeline your case is moving forward at a very reasonable speed. There is no reason to get all agravated and contact a congressman. You may do that if your case is out of normal processing times AND after you have contacted USCIS and you haven't received a response.

Thanks for the information, but there are plenty of threads on VJ where people have requested expedited service through their congressman, because they had a job offer, shortly after they filed AOS and they were definitely successful. So I don't think I did anything wrong and hope it works, because we need my husband to be employed to help our current financial hardship we are experiencing.

Yes, there are people who did apply for expedited service but those people didn't even have a biometric appointment. On top of that when you apply for expedited service, you call USCIS not a congressman and also you will have to submit evidence to justify your request.

From what I see in your timeline, your EAD card should be around the corner, you might see it in the mail next week.

At this point, if I were you and having the biometrics done already, I wouldn't waste my time with an expedited service request.
