Need advice

I decided I don't want to go through the trouble or involve my employer in getting an employment letter and when I was hired never received one as they don't give employment letters.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and try to write a short, but detailed letter explaining why I didn't file income tax the past 3 years (also included tax transcripts as proof of non-filing) as I didn't have a job = no income (was going to college, but came home didn't have a car so no transportation to work.) and that I recenly got recomended through a family member (my father) for a job position at the same company, that I have reliable transportation now through carpooling. I explained that I was gainfully employed, the company name, how much paid per hour, hours worked per week that it is a full time job and and listed annual salary based on the hours I work and that I'm stable in the job and planning on being an employee for the foreseeable future.

Also including all my paystubs since starting the job at the beginning of summer of this year.

The letter is 214 words including heading and closing so it's not long or anything, but I explained everything that would be in an employment letter as well as a simple reason for not being able to work before. Do you think I have a good chance of not getting an RFE, I know this would only be an opinionated answer if anyone does answer, but if anyone has thought of doing this before in my situation I'd like to know what happened?

I think including a letter of explanation is great. In our case, we included a letter explaining why neither my wife nor I filed Federal income tax. And therefore, did not have tax transcripts for the previous 3 years.

However, I do feel that the letter from your employer is important. Your employer is usually an unrelated, third-party. USCIS will see the contents of their letter as an objective, unbiased assessment of you as an employee. Your letter may contain all the elements of a letter of employment. But I still believe that the same letter, from your employer, would weigh more.

I considered that as far as performance and my status as a good employee would look better coming from the employer rather than me, but at the moment it would be really inconvient to ask for an employment letter so I think I'll do it only as a last resort.

Since I'm using a joint sponsor even though I would make enough by myself to support a family of 2 at minimum and 4 at max based on poverty guide lines, but might plan to go back to school eventually as well as I've only had the job for a short period which could be viewed as a liability to NVC, I'm using the joint sponsor (my mother) as a colateral to prove to them there isn't any doubt that the beneficiary wouldn't become a public charge, as she's worked at her job for 30 years and plans to still work for another 10 or more and it's well above the amount required for a family size of 3 by counting me, husband and mother. So this is why I hope it might work out and hoping that they may not ask me to send in an employment letter, I'll give it a try I think and just deal with it "if" I get an RFE.

I understand. It may be an inconvenience, especially if you have worked there less than 6 months. But, you gotta start somewhere, right?

I agree thank's for the reply , I'm just a little nervous about it, but I'll try it and see what happens.
