NVC expedite and Interview Expedite?

Ok, my question, I know people can get expedited processing through NVC..once they've had USCIS expedition. I was just wondering in regards to the Interview at the consulate/embassy..can you have that expedited? Granted that your NVC expedite goes through..shouldn't that carry through and get you expedited or priority interview date? I'm supposed to find out tomorrow if our expedite will go through for our NOA2..and if it does...we'll NVC expedite as well. Only problem is that the consulate I have to interview at is in Montreal..from what I hear is about 5 Months behind. So..if expedite goes through..one month at NVC roughly and then another 5 months? Be f'n May by the time I get my interview.

And don't go calling me a line jumper..or any bullshit..I got a valid reason to get back 'home'..my step daughter is going into the hospital for about a month on heavy meds to kill off a bacteria in her lungs and my wife wont be able to work that whole time...so loss of income, paying bills and keeping the house in check, as well as helping my wife and step daughter out is a high priority right now.

You need to expedite at each stage, so if you get a USCIS expedite, you'll have to apply for an expedite at NVC and the consulate

Good luck

Yea you have to apply again for the NVC stage.

We did that really late in the game when they already had our IV papers and they accepted the expedite around the time they were going to work on our papers anyway. The expedite was forwarded to the embassy however and I was given an interview appointment for 2 weeks later. good think I already had my medical done at that time. It would have gotten hectic otherwise.

Good luck on doing that!

It is generally a good idea if you want help and advice to not be rude...hence the first line of your quote. Generally "I need help and here is why" is much better. FYI.

Furthermore, I sincerely hope your step daughter becomes well soon. Although I know you didn't ask for this advice, I am going to give it to you anyway. If there is ANY WAY what-so-ever your wife can work while your daughter is in the hospital she NEEDS to work. I sat there day by day while my ex-husband sat there on life support and it did nothing to help other than to run out my FMLA, leave him stranded when he could have REALLY used my help when he came out of the hospital, and deplete my 401k. He was sick for over 4 months, and it was a waste of my time to sit there...I know it sounds horrid, but it's the truth. If she can rearrange her work schedule or anything to keep from missing work it will help everyone in the long run!

Each case is individual mate. Dont worry about explaining your reasons for expedite on here - the only people that matter are the officials that you have to satisfy for the expedite, and from what I know, your case certainly meets that criteria.

You have to let the NVC know - who then send the expedite docs and request to the consulate, well they do in London anyway.

Im sure, that if it qualifies they will expedite the whole way through and not keep you waiting for 5 months. I hope not, as we are in a similar situation too. If theres any justice they wont

Sorry to hear that. I know the USA is different to the UK, and in some ways we are fortunate to have the NHS.

Knowing CRN's case as I do, if I was in his position id be pushing as hard as I can for an expedite. His reasons are very valid if it can be put that way.

His case involves a CHILD - someone that needs at LEAST one parent attention 24/7. I wouldnt expect my wife to work in such circumstances. But I see what your saying, however in a sensitive case such as this its harsh to expect a parent to leave their (very young) child in hospital in this instance.

She's 8 years old, Cystic Fibrosis...parent or relative must always be present with the minor child, hospital policy. Rest of her family and the girl's biological father are worthless. Anything else?

Anyways, to answer my question..as it was reiterated..I Know about the USCIS expedite, I know about the NVC expedite..I wanted to know about the Interview expedite..as someone very graciously answered that for me. I didn't know if it was a 2 step or 3 step process.

its unfortunate when people judge your position - to put it politely. ive had some decent people pm me and seem genuine, ask about the expedite reason, for which i explain and they disappear. its the holier than thou approach, i filed before you so i should be sorted before you etc....

if i didnt have a reason to push my case, id happily sit back and let nature or the process, take its course. unfortunately i do and am not in a position to sit back and watch it happen. you fight for your family. thats why we're here and thats why the basic and expedited pocess' exists.

ive known of cases that have been denied for the process. and some approved surprisingly. i feel your frustration, its a multitude of things, thats why the list of criteria exists and you dont have to be pigeon holed into one area.

ive said several times from my knowledge of your case, its very surprising youve not had the positive decision yet, heres hoping you get that tomorrow. as we know, its not all about the money. id swap my last cent to have a healthy family. period.

its strange, its a 3 step process. but the nvc has guidance from the consulates from what i can gather. our case reached nvc last week. we sent the expedite requests in 2 days ago, and another today, and my wife was told today that it was sent to london yesterday. im not sure how it will progress from there as we havent had our iin yet or sent in the aos or iv packages. whether nvc will be allowed to accept our request and then process it quickly followed by another request and quick process thru london - or the rest of it will now be conducted thru london, ive no idea.

all i know is the nvc told us to call regularly for updates. so we will.

CRN: I've read about your situation in some other thread and I, too, am just shocked that they haven't expedited your case yet. Sometimes it seems that common sense is just too much to ask...just not right. Good luck, man.

We were expedited for our interview in Montreal.

Each and every step is a separate request, and just as a FYI - Montreal was not influenced by the fact that we had, up to the point of the interview, been approved for expedite. We had to convince them (the consulate) all over again.

Good luck with everything!

Hey Redneck... Sorry about your daugter.. please keep us posted on her progress..

contact NVC if you haven't already... However, unless you get put in AP, NVC stage should move thru quickly.. otherwise you'll need to work with Montreal to get the process for the expidite..

Also, some like to give unsolicited advice even though they jump down others throat for doing the same thing.. please forgive Jill, you'll learn to love her..

Let us know how things go with your daugther.. we're all concerned and praying for her.. How old is she?

Expedite requests at the NVC stage are not approved by the NVC but by the USEM. The NVC will forward the expedite request to the USEM if the USEM accepts the request the file is sent to the USEM in the processing stage it is in now at the NVC.

The file is then completed by the USEM. The interview is assigned by the USEM and usually is very fast.

There is a problem with this though. There is usually no RFE from the USEM. The file needs to be complete or you will get the RFE at the interview which will slow down the process. You can bring any document you feel you may need to the interview to satisfy the missing or incomplete documents but you have to understand what you will need because in most cases you will not be told previous to the interview what is needed or is incorrect.

Make sure you know exactly what is needed at the interview.

I have expedited my case through the whole process and know this information to be true.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that clarification my friend. That makes it more clear - and as I thought it was, too.

I know you expedited through the uscis stage, it still took a while through NVC for you, or so it seems. Did you apply for an expedite from the get - go at NVC stage too?

My wife sent her email to the NVC for the attn of a specific officer - and attached all supporting documents to it - there were about 15 or so of them. Including relevant info regarding my reason for overstay too. We did this as I wanted to be upfront from the start for the reason why - and if London Embassy sees / approves the expedite they will be somewhat familiar with our case.

How long did it take you to find out that your expedite had been approved by the consulate at the NVC stage?

BTW - I hope all's well your end now

Hope all goes well for you guys at the interview!

Sorry to hear about your step daughter. I hope she recovers quickly. May God be with her.

Also I agree with a previous person. You need to learn how to control your feeling. Just because you are angry because of what someone may have said does not mean that you have to respond in a negative way. Be a better man! and keep your anger in check and foremost don't show others. It just shows how weak of a person you are when you let others get to you by words.

Good luck in the USA and please come here with a positive attitude and be productive for your wife's and step daughters sake. I.E. Don't act like a redneck!

We already have enough red necks here in this country already.
