Hi Kim I am also waiting.for an interview my case was completed 10/8/10.I am getting very anxious. Its my husband's bday as well and that is his only wish too! I guess USEM is logged or something? probably also because of too much holidays in Manila.

I called the embassy last week, I was asking for an earlier interview date because of my work. The person that I spoke to was willing to give me a November interview, he said there were still spots at that time from Nov 2-22nd, but he couldn't do it because he said they don't have the case files yet, and they won't be able to schedule my husband until they have 'em. And then, NVC told me they won't forward the case files until they schedule the interview. So I don't know.....

Do you guys know if the scheduling is different for K1 and other visas? For k1's once Manila enters our petition in the database, we will be able to schedule ASAP....

I hope we schedule our interviews same way as they do it with K1. But unfortunately, we have to wait for NVC to schedule us.

For IR1/CR1 applicants, they rely on the National Visa Center to schedule their interview date (kumbaga, they are at their mercy); K1 applicants schedule their interview themselves...all the NVC does is assign the case number. There's a way for you to monitor when your case arrives at the Embassy: Track DHL Package from NVC to US Embassy

When you have an idea when it arrives, you can initiate a call to the US Embassy call center and set an interview schedule without waiting for the USEM letter to arrive.

Doesn't suck as much as paying an extra $1,610 for adjustment of status on top of the future fees for Removal of Conditions. Just hang in there. :)

Thanks for the clarification! My email approval from USCIS was 11/3. About when should I be contacting NVC on getting that MNL case #? I want to schedule a December interview ASAP. Thanks everyone!

Do you want to be together again with your sweetheart as soon as you can?

Here's the quickest way to do it:

Start calling the NVC right now and call them every day until you get your MNL case number. Once you have your MNL case number, wait about one week or ten days, and then start calling the USEM call center to make an interview appointment. A week (or so) is about the right amount of time for your K-1 packet to arrive in Manila and to be entered into the Embassy's system.

Whatever you do, don't listen to the script-readers at the call center when they tell you to call back in two weeks. Call every day until you get your appointment scheduled. Also, if the call center asks you whether your fiancée received a letter/email from the Embassy, tell them "yes."

It worked for us. :star:

I can't understand why they're making it hard for those who are married to get an interview date. We're already married, are we not supposed to be prioritize so we can be reunited with our spouse soon? I just can't understand their system.

Yeah, I don't understand what's taking them sooo long to start scheduling people! Well I guess it's worth the wait if my husband gets an early December interview. I just hope they let us know already so we can prepare. My baby and I are going back to Manila to be with him during his interview, and I need to know the date so I can let my employer know and buy a ticket. I don't want to wait 'till the plane tickets sky-rocket for the holidays!

Hi kim. I'm a f2a visa benificiary, I called up today and I asked the lady when can we have an interview and she told me they are scheduling me for next month, she told me to call back on Friday to know or to make sure of it. You think NVC is accurate? I am really expecting, but I have fears they might not include me still.

Things worth having are worth waiting for. Go for it! Be persistent, no matter what. Keep believing. Keep the faith! ♥
