How is this different than the dems attaching some social bill to a military spending bill? They did it all the time. Either the reps voted for it or risked being called anti military. If the reps attach this to the debt bill then Obama will not have much of a choice, sign it and repeal Obamacare or risk being blamed for a default.

There is a difference, between defaulting, as in failing to make contractual payments on time, and not creating new contracts and obligations.

Defaulting is not meeting your financial obligations according to the debt contract.

When someone defaults on their debt, it doesn't mean you won't get your money back

(as you seemed to imply in a prior post), but it's still a default.

By not raising the debt ceiling, the US is not accruing more debt. That is not the same as defaulting. The debt already accrued will continue to be serviced, therefore, the US will not be in default. I don't belief the US Treasury has ever defaulted on a Treasury obligation, nor do I expect it to do so.

Healthcare has no hope of being repealed at this point. It should be de-funded. The "cost" of defaulting, if necessary would be far less than the cost of keeping healthcare in place. Healthcare NEEDS to be abandoned. That is WHY we kicked out the Dems, make no mistake about it.

How is it that the Affordable Health Care Act has so many provisions that were originally propose by Republicans in previous years, yet so many of the Republicans now want to repeal it? I don't understand why it has become such an eyesore for the GOP other than it was such a landmark victory for Obama and the Democrats.

The disgrace is the Bill itself and how something that should have been such a help to the people of this nation descended into a farcical grab-it-while-you-can-get-it exercise for the Democrats, their friends and special interest groups.
