honestly if i were you i would check to see if he is a registered sex offender or not( you could do that here ).crimes such as rape and molestation ( pretty much sex and murder related ones) are the ones that could effect where a visa goes

US citizen petitioners are not usually called in for biometrics. When they are, it's usually not a good thing. If his sex crime falls under the Adam Walsh Act then he's not eligible to file a petition for anyone without a waiver, which can be difficult and time consuming to get. Without knowing specifically what he was convicted of, it's difficult to offer any advice.

Let me get the story straight. You are the beneficiary, correct? And your fiance, the US citizen, is the person with the criminal record as a sex offender? HE had a biometrics appointment? I never heard of that happening. It could not be good news.

On the other hand, do you really want to be with a person who has a criminal history as a sex offender? Sadly, it seems as though some people take advantage of the dating sites to bring in fiancees or wives from other countries, and once they are here, they behave completely different. The fiancees have the disadvantages of not knowing the language, being new to the country, not having any family or friends here, and overall being powerless in their position. I hope this is not the case with you and your fiance, of course. But I would advice you to give it a good amount of thought...
