As of yesterday I have finally sent out both AOS and iv packet and awaiting the SIF. Now that i'm lookin into the next step i'm seeing mixed messages as what's required to be brought to the interview from the beneficiary?? Can someone who went through the process please elaborate?

I sent originals of the birth cert, marriage, and police cert to NVC like a lot of us and just wondering if i'm going to have to reorder more certified copies?? Don't they just use the originals sent to them from NVC of our packets as proof at the interview stage? I would think it silly to have beneficiary bring additional originals when they're already in their hands. Then again i haven't been through the process hence the question. Advice would be much appreciated

Hello

Yes you don't have to bring original birth, marriage, or police certificates to the interview as you already sent them, in fact after the interview you should get the original documents back.

So you bring some photos, letters, etc with you to the interview

Good Luck

Find a job you love to do, and you will never work another day in your life.

It is advisable to bring copies of whatever originals you sent (at least thats what I did) and any other supporting documents. When you get your interview appointment letter, it will contain a table which shows what all documents they've received and what you need to take. Good luck.

Great informtion because we all have the same question. I am not sure if there is a lack of consistency depending on the Consulate so I am playing safe with a few extra originals. There is so much time involved I will pay a few dollars for the extras. I have found it useful to get practical application here but also I am running a parallel checklist from the Department of state site and the local web site of the Embasey in Ukraine (for my wife). Thanks all!

 Local consulates' websites have an area specifically detailing what you need to bring and what needs to be original. Play it safe and have an original of as many documents as possible (birth certificates, marriage certificate, divorce decrees, etc.). If you don't need them, great. You will have them for any future needs that may arise.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

 Agree with all of the above.

My interview checklist did not not request any of the originals (they were forwarded by NVC) BUT to be on the safe side I brought extras. A few extra $ for peace of mind was worth it to me. Good luck!
