Unless your fiance has any immigration issues like being in the US illegally, been deported, and so forth, the K-1 process is quite straightforward and generally doesn't need a lawyer. Give us all the details about your fiance and we can better assess if your process will be plain vanilla, or if it has complications that suggest a lawyer.

Have anybody use Allan S. Lowly immigration lawyer in California? Just curious if anyone have any experience with them....found their site on the internet. I am kind of lost on how to apply a K1 visa.

His name is Allan S. Lolly - not Lowly.

I traded a couple of emails with him once, but I've never hired him and don't know anyone else who did. He seemed pretty knowledgeable, and provided detailed and explicit answers to the questions I asked him. I don't know if this says anything about his service after you hire him. Some lawyers will bend over backwards for you until they get your check, and then they practically vanish. I'm not saying Allan will do this. I'm just saying...

I have two friends who hired a lawyer and they said they made a mistake. I also wanted to hire a lawyer but then i found this website where people are very knowledgeble, and they helped me step by step. Unless your case is a difficult one i would suggest you writte your questions here, and with some help, you can do it yourself.

Thank you all so much for the input...I am starting to gather all our paperwork together. I just do not know where to start. I started reading K1 information on what we needed to get our application going. Before I send the paperwork i will post it here....hopefully i will get it done right.

I will try to do it on our own first then we can go from there.

I am using them cause i don't have the time nor did i want an rfe. We already got denied for a visit for her after we got married so i just wanted to do it right the first time and they quoted an 8 mo or quicker turn around time. They are very knowledgeable on the subject but expect to pay for it. But I get answers to all my questions even ones that are not pertaining fully to "the process"
