I have only been out to see my fiance once, we met my first day in Peru and I stayed for a couple months. We got engaged my last week there. Obviously I didn't know anything about the whole k1 visa deal so I didn't plan to put together a lot of proof of relationship stuff. I do however have several fotos of us together, kissing, holding hands, stuff like that. Even a picture with her parents and siblings when I took them out to dinner to ask for their blessing. I also have my returning plane ticket stubb and email confirmations for the flights. Also bank statements that show that I withdrew money from an ATM in Peru. And now I obviously have emails and international calling records proving an ongoing relationship.

Should that all be enough, or would it be smarter to plan a second trip before filing the petition?

I just want to get things started, but I want to do it right and do everything necessary to get it approved, like everyone else in this forum:)

Of course I want to send the papers in as soon as possible, but I want to do it right and obviously want them to be approved. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

For a PETITION only ONE meeting in person is required. You do not need a second or third or furth meeting and they would not help or hurt the case. You can file your petition TODAY.

Extra visits as evidence of relationship AT THE INTERVIEW are a good thing.

Hola! Nice to see another Peruvian filer =)

1 meeting in person is enough evidence to file, so don't worry and get as much evidence from that trip (passport, stubs, pictures). At the interview you will have to bring evidence also, so start keeping phone records, messenger conversations, skype logs, all of that and bring it to the interview. I highly recommend that you go to Lima for the interview, and by you being there it shows a lot also (chemistry is key).

Hope all goes well in your journey, and if you have any questions feel free to let me know.

I would advise you to start the process and file your petition now (as long as your meeting happened within the last two years). If you want, you could still visit your fiancee as the petition is in process and this way you can see your fiancee and gather additional evidence of a continued relationship and engagement.

Best wishes!
