Hi, I know this question has been asked a couple of times before, So all your replies are highly appreciated :)

My Fiancée is in Medical School and so we have decided to get her Mom to be our Co-Sponsor. Her mom works has a school teacher and makes around $42,000 annually. The household consists of just the mom and her daughter aka my fiancée, i was wondering if that would be enough to meet the required poverty line or is it advisable to get another Co-Sponsor. Her mom is also the co-signer for the loans she has taken for med-school, will that all affect the paper work ? Lastly what documents should be provided has proof/evidence with the I-134 ??

Thank you once again for your time !!!

Hi there!

Have a look at the link below :

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

For a household of 3 people the 125% poverty line is $22,887, so looks like she makes well above the 125% poverty line.

Hope this helps :)

Good luck

Her mom's income should be enough. No other co-sponsor should be needed.

The fact that her mom co-signed her student loans is irrelevant.

Both your fiancee and her mother will need to complete and sign an I-134. Both should provide, at the least, a copy of their tax return or IRS transcripts for the most recent tax year. Some consulates ask for additional evidence, such as 3 years of tax returns, or employment letters. Provide whatever the consulate asks for. Her mother will need to provide proof of her US citizenship or permanent resident status (birth certificate, passport, green card, etc.).

Just to reiterate....the Petitioner always sends in a 134 form, even if they make zero income and then the cosponsor send in one also, plus all those add'l financial documents. IRS tax transcripts, free, are best.

That's enough. Attach one year tax return and recent check stubs.

Your fiancee is NOT included in her mothers affidavit, she is counted in her OWN affidavit. Her mother's "family size" will be TWO. Herself and you. She exceeds the needed amount by more than double. No worries.

Okay so let me get this right. Firstly my fiancée and her mom fill out the I-134 AOS each. Secondly when considering the 125% poverty line that means we are looking at a household of 3 or just for me and her mom (household of 2) ??? Thank you for all your comments !
