Hey, guys,

So I received another letter from my congressman and it reads as follows:

"According to the Texas Service Center, the Western Service Center transferred 36,000 I-130 petitions to their office and they are all falling in that same time frame and they are processing these as fast as they can which involves a 5 month turn around to complete all of these applications.

The Texas Service Center's Congressional Unit has ordered your file to be sent to the EXAMS Unit in which it will be then assigned to an examiner. You should receive a decision or other Notice of Action within 45 to 60 days."

So, yeah.

Thoughts?

yes, i will be homeless and penniless by the time my husband arrives and we will be living on the street... nothing like the american dream

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

So they've screwed up 72,000 lives. That's nice.

Update on my end: TSC emailed me in response to my inquiry about where my file is saying all approved files are sent to NVC within one business day. Uh - that doesn't answer my question and you just proved something went wrong with mine.

NVC emailed me saying they definitely do not have my file as they should by now (I've been approved for 30 days) so they are following up with USCIS.

And again I'm off to the Congresswoman, local USCIS office, anyone else that may be able to help. It's been 195 days since I filed. Round 2 of this mess continues.

Meanwhile, a friend of a friend filed a 130 after me - in July - and her husband had his green card by Thanksgiving. Nebraska Service Center.

I checked the USCIS website last night at 10:30PM and noticed it was approved. Then I received both an email and a txt msg of the approvals for each petition (I-130 & I-129F) around 10:43PM because I signed up for both txt and email notification.

Congrats on your approvals  ...hoping many more to come. Our time lines are so close  , keeping my fingers crossed  .

I am almost out of TSC blackhole.

funny how they consider it OK to keep us waiting past our 5 months just because we were transferred along with many others. March will be 8 months for me and it will be great to have to re-fill out all my I-864 forms with 2010 tax information.I guess getting things done beforehand didn't work so well in this case. We all deserve an expedite through NVC for this mess, this has been a ridiculous screw up by USCIS. Why they transferred us when we were all so close to being approved(I was on my 4 month mark)will always piss me off...whoever ordered this decision should be reprimanded. It surely has been a living hell for all of us, and I am hoping we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Im not THAT mad at Texas Service Center, more mad about the thoughtless decision to transfer us. Best of luck to everyone here, we will need it.

I wonder if we could demand a refund of half our fees? On any other PAID for service, there would be an absolute out cry. Oh, and, the question I CANNOT stop asking myself is - If CSC were behind, then why didn't they transfer September/October filers. I will NEVER understand this. My Dad used to say, "Son, you make your own luck" - well, not in THIS case that's for sure!

36,000 cases transferred from CSC to TSC for adjudication!!! I can't believe only we here on VJ are experiencing the same problem. It has to be a systemic problem at TSC. All July filers are over the advertised 5 month processing time-frame, and are approaching 6 months. This is USCIS error. Individual complaints go in one ear and out the other at USCIS. We need a class-action letter (or something). We probably represent all 50 States (or close to it). Does anyone have any idea how we could bring this to the attention of the media, acting as one voice? I would be willing to sign a petition or letter requesting an investigation of the incompetence of USCIS in our cases. Comments?? Suggestions??

What we need is a lawyer or media person to take this up on our behalf. Yes, this is a MASS error by USCIS, and no one seems bothered or interested. We have PAID for this service - it is not a charity offered by the USA government, and we are getting screwed. We, personally have lost HUGE amounts of money, and may well lose our home and everything we value if this takes much longer. US citizens are being abused by their own government.

I know most on here are not only missing their loved ones terribly, but also losing a lot of money. I have no idea what to do, I am not a US citizen, but there must be someone out there who loves fighting for a cause that could help us out.

Looking at the transcript of Laurel Scott's free chat on a Wednesday, i dont see that anyone has asked her if she is aware of whats going on with TSC - which surprises me. As far as immigration lawyers, she is extremely highly rated. If I was in the position with TSC Id be pushing every avenue possible.

Starting with advice from one of the people that may well be in the know - and also Reuters. Ive worked in the media industry within the UK. Its not something that it would appeal to the public here, but in the US - most definitely Reuters and / or CNN.

Good job! Be proactive. If I hadnt been proactive in my case, Im fully aware Id still be waiting, I pushed and pushed all the way. Its mentally exhausting but rewarding in the long run.

If you join immigrate2us you can put your questions in her thread now I believe.

At least you know she will give you an honest answer, Id be surprised if she knew nothing about the situation - after all, any solid news is better than nothing for you guys.

Good luck.

if enough of you write to the news agencies, the story has a higher chance of being picked up. having worked in this field, i know 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' to be highly appropriate in this case.

Maybe contacting Jerry Seper with the Washington Times. He did an artical on the USCIS officail for reporting the gross negligence and mishandling of cases.
