FYI - This happened to several of us. In our case, I called the USCIS 800 number, talked to a level 2 person and learned that it was still at TSC and has never moved after that.

I know I haven't participated in this thread for a quite a while but it's nice to hear that the level two support people at USCIS are giving the same information I gave when I saw the first reports of these emails and the emails themselves. The cases are still at TSC. Somebody simply selected the wrong boilerplate for batch of emails. If a petition for an immediate relative is actually transferred that's not the message that gets sent.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I feel for you, really. I'm hitting the 5 month mark and if I'm this anxious, I hate to imagine what you must be going through. As usual, if I am able to obtain any additional info that I think may help us in any way, I'll be sure to share.

Cheers.

six months and 1 day for me, this is some kind of bullshit. I would love to scan my notice of transfer and show them the part that says my petition was transferred in order to speed up processing. Speed up processing on what? September and October filers? Sure as hell didnt mean any of our petitions

7/2/10- NOA1

2/9/11- NOA2 (transferred to Texas)

NVC

2/28/11- case number received

3/2/11- Paid AOS bill

3/5/11- Paid IV bill

3/12/11- expedite to Bogota consulate approved!!!

3/14/11- left NVC to Bogota for further processing

3/17/11- received by Bogota, emailed consulate and was told to send DS-230 and DS-2100 (packet 3)

3/18/11- packet 3 emailed to Bogota consulate, email confirmation on March 23

3/31/11- Interview date! Approved!!!!!!

Keep the faith, everything works out for the very best

I'm waiting to see what the numbers look like on the USCIS for November for the chart that shows volume trends. I wonder what kind of b.s. # they're gonna throw up there.

I received a letter via snail mail that basically states the following:

On 12/13/2010 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case.

This much is true.

Then it reads:

The status of this service request is:

Normally, in the English language, the above phrase ending with a colon would indicate that the status of my service request ought be listed following the colon. Instead there's simply a blank space.

After the blank, the letter continues to read:

Please contact the Department of State, Visa Center.... or call the consulate where the interview was held.

I'm really baffled at this point.

Interview??? Umm... how about an approval first??? Neither does the letter tell me what the service request status is, nor does it give me any other meaningful information. Of course out of curiosity I called the D.O.S. and they had no clue what the letter was talking about, which of course makes sense, since the USCIS had apparently never sent my paperwork out of Texas.

Unbelievable.

Really, it makes me so very sad to see how not only mine, but our collective paperwork is being managed.

I spoke with an Officer at the USCIS who told me she'd call the Texas Service Center and get the skinny on my paperwork. She said she'd call me when she had something- we'll see if this holds true.

Again- unbelievable.

It's been nearly a month since we were approved, but no NVC case number. I just spoke with an officer at NCSC. He said that due to the holidays, I should wait another 2 weeks for my case to be sent to NVC. I asked for the officer adjudicating my case to contact me when my file was sent, but no cigar. Goes to show...approval does not necessarily mean your case goes anywhere for quite some time. I asked what determined timing for when files were sent (are they sent in batches?). Timing seems to be at the discretion of the officer adjudicating your case. On 12/24, I sent an email to an officer at TSC regarding the location of my file that I'm hoping will receive a clearer response.

I've also been calling the NVC all day and getting a busy signal. Bizarre.

My husband found the following contacts that may be helpful to all of you who are beyond your 5 months and waiting for approval. I feel like my frustration multiplied by 100 once my 5 months were up and I had no approval so feel for all of you.

USCIS leadership

Joe Moore is in charge of performance and quality so he may be worth contacting regarding TSC's performance.

Some of you have written about NCSC reps being everything from unhelpful and rude to downright abusive. You can report them to the OIG.

I think that the guy (oh, excuse me, I mean ajudicator) that approved your petition got a reprimand from his supervisor who took one look at it and told him that it wasn't right and there was more work to be done before it should have been approved. He is probably working in his cubical with a dunce cap on his head.

I think i should change my career to work in USCIS or NVC so I can really see what happens on and what people should do. Although I believe it probably has been done and the person that got the job there was brainwashed haha. I have a family friend who works for USCIS CSC, i'll see what he says and post it later.
