Hey Chief, a Congrint will probably do much better than anything that we could do. I wished i was still on Active Duty because this is the route that I would take. If I recall correctly, they have 72 hours to act upon a Congrint.

Good luck and Anchors away swabbie............

LOL @ swabbie... Gotta love those jarheads :hehe:

What's the difference in a CONGRINT and just contacting a Congressman? And.... even though your a jarhead... I'm still praying for your son and your application APPROVAL!!! Were you able to get through to your wife? How's your son?

The only information that I see (google) for CONGRINT is all related to the USMC. I'll keep looking...

http://www.lejeune.usmc.mil/mccsss/schools/pas/instructional%20section/career%20level/ADJ/CJ0103.doc Edited by NASCARFAN186

Talked to the wife about an hour ago, she is still a basket case and fighting the tears back. Our son is being medicated via IV and on oxygen, a lot of chest congestion though. I was able to talk with him and could hear the congestion when he spoke to me in Thai/Khmer, his English needs some work. He will probably be in the hospital for a few days.

I would initiate it through your command or via the Commands Legal, it will be attended to with more kid gloves.

A CONGRINT is a generic term but applies to all government agencies. When an inquiry is made via elected official on behalf of a service member, there are certain protocols that have to be followed by the agency that is in question. I bet the DHS has a PDF somewhere that covers how they are supposed to handle it.

Like I said, get your command involved and see if you can at least get a 1 star to endorse it.

I'm glad you were able to talk to them. I'm so sorry that you (and they) are going through this. It is a shame that USCIS is doing this to us. No offense to anyone else in here, but.... it's even worse that they won't "hook a brother up" (Gov't to Gov't hook-up). I look at it like this...... USICS job is to bring 'em here.... and our job is to protect them once they are here. Apparently they've never had to spend months and months away from their loved ones... so, I don't really expect them to understand. Anyway... enough soapbox from me.

Thank you for the info... I will contact base legal... maybe I can put these anchors to work ;)

I cannot put myself in your shoes but I can only imagine how is like to be a parent, powerless to help your child! It's difficult enough and very painful to be away from your spouse much less from your spouse & child that it's not well!!You will get though this!Thay can't put us on hold forever!

God help and protect your son! (F)

I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of ####### like this so they can cover there a$$ and pad the stats. I guarantee that they are pulling this kinda sh it.

It is going to be up to us to hold them accountable, I will.
