There seems to be little difference between it being open or closed.

SERIOUSLY.

Came across this, kinda felt it made some sense to our situation. Not sure, I do have a migraine right now..........

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have just given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim still didn't have anything growing and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however, he just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach. It was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful -- in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his

colleagues laughed, but a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives. Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed - Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive

Officer!

His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. He couldn't even grow his seed?

"How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water itand bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust

* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends

* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness

* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment

* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective

* If you plant hard work, you will reap success

* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

Well, I'm going to say that I'm frustrated. TSC has managed to put this off to almost the last minute. As you all know, my wife and I were blessed on my last visit to see her with a child. She's now into her 2nd Tri-Mester. I know that TSC is also aware of the fact that my wife is now pregnant, as they have congratulated me on a few occasions when I have spoken to them. But now I'm starting to do the math, and the days are quickly ticking away for the approval. With the way TSC has been moving cases to the NVC, as I watch both threads.. I'm going to have to plan a trip back to be with my wife for the birth of our child. If I would have known then, what I know now.. I might have just done the paperwork to stay with my wife. So I could have been there for all the wonderful things that go with having a baby. I had faith that things would move quickly.... yah... I should have known.

So, even if we get approved and receive the NOA-2 in the next 10 days, it might not be possible for her to travel. As we're dealing with all the extras that go with this entire journey. So, it's now my plan to begin to plan the trip to be with my wife when the baby is born. I have no more faith in the system that is supposed to move quickly thru applications and make everything right with the family. I'll let you all know when we receive the NOA-2, and get the approval.. but it's probably not going to come quick enough. We're now at Day 200+ since we filed.. and nothing from them at all. No help from Senator Udall of Colorado, and nothing more from TSC at all. SO.. TSC.. you won.. I give up, as I want to be with my wife for the birth of our child. I will say that I've learned something from this process.. and I want to thank you all for your support, and I will continue to support you all, and pray for you all as well. But reality for me, is back to be with my wife, so I won't miss anything in regards to our baby being born.

Thomas

Hi Saylin - That's great news! We got our NOA2 on 1/24 (email) and 1/31 hardcopy, and I called the automated service today (NVC is closed) and they have no record of my case number... I provided my USCIS case number. A litle bummed. Seemed to go very smoothly for you though, which is great. Do you know if other recent approvals are still waiting for NVC like me? I know some of our November approvals are waiting... wondering about the more recent approvals...?

So Hubby just called NCSC...they put in a "service request" (whatever that truly means) and of course we got a similar bogus response as we did a month ago. We should "receive an email within 13 days and if not call back in 30 days" GIVE ME A BREAK ALREADY WITH THE DAMN 30 DAY RESPONSE!!!! Enough is enough already! They are wrong in every which way. This move to TSC first brought us all hope thinking that it would mean speedy approvals. Instead, we've been bamboozled and locked away in some musty dungeon with very little hope to see the daylight again. (Okay I'm being dramatic, but you guys get me).

I think I need to just focus on something else for awhile. Maybe stay off VJ and USCIS. I'm driving myself bonkers. I just can't take it anymore. I want to stop thinking about it.

The problem is, there is no accountability. No one is interested, and no one seems to care. To make matters worse we have been fed a catalogue of lies every which way but loose. I mean, you wouldn't treat a dog the way we have been handled.

All we want is the truth. Even after approval, it's like one big punishment, and for what? Doing things the correct way? headbonk.gif

Think about THAT next time the government says "oh, let us handle that for you...". i.e. healthcare

I think they should be stopped from lying. I mean telling everybody who calls that they are working on dates 15 days before their particular application date is despicable. They must think that people do not have the internet or are unwilling to compare notes. It's unbelievable to me what passes as Customer Service policy at USCIS.

The problem is, there is no accountability. No one is interested, and no one seems to care. To make matters worse we have been fed a catalogue of lies every which way but loose. I mean, you wouldn't treat a dog the way we have been handled.

The federal workforce culture is completely void of accountability. There is zero incentive to be efficient. In fact, it's just the opposite. You don't ever want to work yourself out of a job.

Hello from Miami you guys, I just got caught up with a lot of reading on here!

The lack of approvals and the consistent inconsistencies in the information each of us is given when we call customer service truly is confounding. It's like Fermat said, do these folks think we all live in individual bubbles sans the internets? Come on- REALLY?
