It looks like (unless technical glitch) your case is already approved (just my opinion!). Call NVC# inputting Receipt# to verify NVC received it.

I have seen some glitch in USCIS website too with this status.

I just got the following email today. First contact since transfer 11/02/10. My I-130 is being worked on, but my I-129F has not update since 11/02/10.

Does this mean we are approved?! Why can't they say that in plain English?

It normally takes few days to a week from the Actual approval date to NVC receipt. This is another method to confirm if the I-130 petition is approved or not.

I'm definitely feeling optimistic now because both of your cases are just shy of the 5-month mark! Hope this means that the rest of us will be just as lucky!

Don't panic mine said the same thing up until today! What is your NOA1 date?

If you log on uscis site you'll see next to your case # some steps : acceptance - initial review - decision - post decision activity

Your case will follow the same steps good luck!

USCIS

Department of Homeland Security is responsible for the approval of all immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, the authorization of permission to work in the U.S. , the issuance of extensions of stay, and change or adjustment of an applicant's status while the applicant is in the U.S.

Department of State

The Office of Visa Services, in the Consular Affairs Bureau, Department of State provides several functions:

We serve as liaisons with the Department of Homeland Security

We serve as liaisons between the Department of State and embassies and consulates abroad on visa matters

We interpret visa laws and regulations, and act as a point of contact for the public

NVC

NVC can be treated as a minor department in DOS. NVC collects and reviews the Affidavit of Support and Visa Applications and Schedules the Consulate interview by co-ordinating with the Foreign Consulate.
