Well if the U.S. Government can't make a website that can handle a reload I don't know what to tell you! It's best that we keep the mind frame that the INS (USCIS, whatever!) is well funded and has the latest and most efficient technologies that will shoot our cases through in no time

while i agree with "well funded" ummm i wouldnt agree on latest and most efficient {long time computer geek}...

but even i go overboard on the OCD freakouts/paranoia when it comes to these visa process :crying:

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

Just to clarify and so everyone is on the same page, you will not receive a notice when your file is "touched". You will only receive a notice when something substantial happens, i.e. a NOA or transfer. On the USCIS website you have to "Sign-up for Case Updates". Once you register on that you can check that and see the last time it was "touched" under the "Last Updated" section. You will not receive any sort of notification if it's "touched". No email, no text, no letter in the mail, zilch, nada. I'm sure that most people on this thread are as obsessive as me on checking the case update pretty regularly. Me to the point that my wife says I'm just torturing myself, ha ha. But hey, what are you gonna do? I wanna know we're at least making progress! Hope this clarifies any confusion.

The only dates that have ever appeared for me under the "last updated" tab was when it was received and when it was transferred. Nothing after that...BUT my 5 months is up in less than a month so I will try to keep my head on straight! :P

Ditto - you almost have exactly the same timeline as us, so fingers crossed we'll hear something soon!

I would like to believe (in my little fantastical mind) that the touches that Aug filers are getting are for steps that us July filers' cases already went through but that were never updated on the site because CSC didn't have the time nor the care to do. I'm going to stand by this belief!

:)

Just remember, not everyone in the world with an I-130 is joined up to VJ. Maybe USCIS is processing non-VJ petitions this week or it could be processing VJ members that just haven't updated yet,

I hope Jenny is right about her belief. I have received NOA1 on 9th July and have not heard from them yet. I read guys with NOA1 having touched several times. It is now making me nervous about having no response at all on my case. Now thanksgiving and christmas is on the line, noone knows how much it will affect our processing times.
