I got a touch today too! I thought it was because I sent in a letter last week updating my husband's (the beneficiary's) address. I figured they didn't actually need that yet, but I just wanted to keep everything up to date and, to be honest, I really wanted to get touched again. But it looks like several others have been touched today as well, so maybe they're up to something over at TSC!

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I have a few questions that maybe you guys can help me with. I sent in my I-130 to the chicago service center in June. They recieved it on the 1st of july. I got a notification by mail on July 15th that said they had recieved my case, however the letter was sent from the California Cervice Center. Once i made my USCIS account for status update i checked it EVERYDAY and i never got a touch. Four months passed n i get a notification on the 5th of November via e-mail that my case was also transfered to Texas service center on November 1st and on the 7th i got the letter notification at home. I never got a notification that my case was sent to the CSC after i sent it to the Chicago office. Is it normal that my case hasnt been touched other then this or that i have not heard from them about my case?

Hi there - I've never seen a touch on my petition either. I've only received the NOA1 and the transfer notice.

I should have read my email notification more carefully. It said this:

"The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."

This is the same second notification that some people got last week. I'm still taking it as a good sign that they are now at least looking at our cases.

Hi there - I've never seen a touch on my petition either. I've only received the NOA1 and the transfer notice.

Hello

Well, im still a little nervous but reading that there are more people that never got a single touch and got aproved made me feel better. Im trying to take that as a good thing. My friend that works for an Immigration office said that it could just be that they dont need anything from us and all paperwork is good or just that the person with our files just doesnt update everything online. But i figure that if something was wrong they would of already sent us some kind of letter...

Same here!

Just to clarify and so everyone is on the same page, you will not receive a notice when your file is "touched". You will only receive a notice when something substantial happens, i.e. a NOA or transfer. On the USCIS website you have to "Sign-up for Case Updates". Once you register on that you can check that and see the last time it was "touched" under the "Last Updated" section. You will not receive any sort of notification if it's "touched". No email, no text, no letter in the mail, zilch, nada. I'm sure that most people on this thread are as obsessive as me on checking the case update pretty regularly. Me to the point that my wife says I'm just torturing myself, ha ha. But hey, what are you gonna do? I wanna know we're at least making progress! Hope this clarifies any confusion.

here's something more to torture you... ever check it so much that you wonder if maybe they might not be able to update your online status because you are busying it out?

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

Well if the U.S. Government can't make a website that can handle a reload I don't know what to tell you! It's best that we keep the mind frame that the INS (USCIS, whatever!) is well funded and has the latest and most efficient technologies that will shoot our cases through in no time

Why Cant I see " Last Updated " Tab. Is it because I just signed up for " Sign-Up for Case Updates "

It's not really a tab. Let's take it step by step.

1. Go to USCIS.gov

2. Left hand side, under "After I File" click on the second bullet "Sign-up for Case Updates"

3. Click on "Register as an Applicant Customer"

4. Accept the terms and conditions and fill out your info.

5. Once you have done that it should take you to your account. I'm going off memory here so don't expect details here. You have to link your case to your account by entering your receipt number. This might be done during the registration process, I have a bad memory.

6. Once you are registered AND you have your case linked to your account, click on "My Profile" and that's where you will see the case table and the Last Updated section.

I freely admit that's a crappy step by step, but hey, better than nothing!

If that works out then you can keep us all updated so I'm not really "off topic". Hope that helps babaa.
